Dominc stares at the wooden holy symbol, fingers wiggling in arcane symbols. But there doesn't appear to be any magic coming off of the symbol.

Grumblejack looks down at Ruby and smiles through his meal. It's a truly horrible sight, but of course, you've all seen worse.

"Grumblejack will do that, little one. And squishing is what Grumblejack does best."
He looks at the letter in his too-large hands, nods, and sticks it into his rags.

"Right that's great and all, let's get the hell outta here."

    Quietly to Ruby

"I must say i'm impressed, although what you've done may not have been the best decision for the rest of us in the long run."

    Ruby will whisper

"Long term gains, friend. You can never have too many allies."

    Speaking aloud now.

"Alright folks, let's move out. Grumblejack, see you soon."

You realize that message is a "whispering wind" and that anyone near the message recipient can hear it with a DC 25 perception check? It's not telepathy.

I've been trying to decide if the ogre is just stupid, or if Ves house ruled it differently. I've just been trying to stick to what he says. But yeah, I know what it actually does is decidedly not telepathy.

I'm going to assume you are all ready to go here, so I'll get this started.

With your disguises all in place as guards or prisoners, you leave the Ogre behind and exit the cells.

The next room is plain, and looks like an ordinary guardroom. There is a small table and two chairs, but other then that, there are no furnishings. There is a fireplace set into the corner of the room, but no fire is currently burning in it.

There are three ways out of here: the door back to the cells you just came from, a side door, and stairs down to a lower level.

Here's the deal. I think we should do the following conditions. Always take the left path, perception in every room (take 10) to quickly survey the room, and work our way down when we can until we hit ground level. Repeat as necessary. Whoever has the best perception will make a targeted roll at each intersection/door. We all be as quiet as we fucking can.

With these conditions in mind, V can just let us know when something interesting happens.

If everyone else agrees, I find that to be acceptable. Everyone just be careful to always let the most qualified (reasonably present) person make the appropriate checks.

Alrighty. Unless anyone has any objections to this, I'll go ahead and start Vir's plan when I get off of work. You have until I get home to make objections.

How do you want to handle loot that's lying around?

If it causes no complication, and if nobody objects, I'll probably get and carry it. Complications mean in-game too. So if it would make it harder to escape then skip it I guess.

EDIT: I meant hold onto it until we get out given that I'm pretty useless while wearing medium armor. So I might as well server the pack mule roll for a bit.

any loot goes into a pot and is divvied up after we're not going to get throughly murdered for escaping. I don't mind us all being evil assholes, but I do mind it when it's directed at the other PCs. That's a cardinal rule. You don't fuck other players.

I agree with Vir on that. Dicking each other around will only lead to problems later on I imagine.

I can go for that as well. We just need out for now; split it later. I'd like to know what it is, though!

Sounds agreeable to me. Zadok is definitely looking for the map though.

Alright. And we're on our way.

You enter the side room and take a quick look around.

This room seems barren. All there is is a table and two chairs.

Perception: Taking 10. Highest bonus is with Zadok, who gets a +6.

    Dominic
You recognize this room. This is where Tiadora met you, and gave you the veil.

The room seems completely barren, and unremarkable. There is also no way out but the one you came in.

You turn around, go back to the last room, and walk down the stairs.

You reach the bottom of the stairwell. The room is lit by a single, flickering torch. The only feature of note is a door that leads out.

Perception: Taking 10. Highest bonus is with Zadok, who gets a +6.

Nothing jumps out at any of you, so you go on through the door.

You emerge into a large hall. The only decoration that you can see is a large banner hanging over the door you just emerged from, bearing the coat of arms for Branderscar. There appear to be four ways out: two doors on your left, one on your right, and a large set of double doors in front of you. In front of the double doors stands two guards.

Perception: Taking 10. Highest bonus is with Zadok, who gets a +6.

You look closer at the guards. One appears to be standing slightly further away from his partner then necessary. You peer closer at the other guard, who appears to be swaying slightly in place.

Now, we need a decision. Which of the four doors do you want to take?

Well, for my money we either need to kill them and stash the bodies back in that empty room or send them to Grumblejack to "reinforce the garrison there" (if we want to explore the other routes). If we just want to continue on our way, then Ruby should bluff it, since she's the "head guard".

It might be safest to send those guards to Grumblejack, and then have the highest bluffs (Ruby and I, I think) stick their heads in the side routes, using stealth as best we can, getting a glance around, and then reporting back to the group. Personally, I prefer that option, as there is no danger of us getting it wrong in front of the other guards, that will be two less if it comes to a fight, and it will put Grumblejack in a better humour if he does escape and find us, plus it lets us know better what is behind us if the door their guarding turns out to be the right direction. That said, I would accept just pushing through the front and hoping as well. Just less. Either way, no side routes with the guards watching, I think.
