I wonder if my spell took hold, I would hate to waste another spell on such a lowly person.

 

Ruby just giggles and shakes her head.

"Why do I get the feeling you're all underestimating the situation we're in?"

 

"Huh... wonder how that Outsider would take that. I think he probably thinks he has dibs on me. You know how they are."

 

"What could be worse? Lots of things. These guys could have been competent and cut off the hands of every spellcaster in the room. That'd suck. Good thing I never learned any magic."

 

To ruby I say "It is not my destiny to die this way, the gods do not throw away their tools so lightly. I know exactly the situation I'm in."

 

"I suppose you want us to start whistling while you remind us to look on the Bright Side of Life then?"

DM's Note: OH SHIT! I DIDN'T EVEN FUDGE THAT ROLL!

With a word and a snap of his fingers, Marcinus sets the chain on his feet glowing with light. You can all see each other clearly: eight bedraggled figures chained to a wall. Seven men, one woman.

Dominic begins whispering his words of power, and you can see a guard staggering slightly outside your cell. But right as he takes a quivering step towards the door, Zadok jerks his arm to try and snap the free.

But the chain is stronger then Zadok thought, and though it comes slightly out of it's moorings, it holds. Not only does it hold, but it makes a loud screeching noise. The guard shakes his head and seems to snap out of it.

"Wait!" You hear one of the guards call. "I think one of the forsaken just tried to ensorcell me!"

The next few moments are frenzied. Three guards swarm the room at lightning speeds. Zadok has been been hit with a club several times, Marcinius' and Dominic's fingers have been been tied together, and both are gagged.

They have also been hit with a club.

The guards take another look around the room. One sniffs in disgust, and they close the door behind them.

And yes, they knew who cast the spells. The guard recognized Dominic's voice, and Marcinius's chains are glowing. Not hard to figure out.

I do my best to curse the guard both figuratively and literally. I think for a moment, and try to work my mouth free of the gag.

Having failed, I just grumble into the gag, and shake my arms. After a moment of this, I gaze around the room, bored.

Ruby whistles at the guard drawing his attention.

"That was really impressive how you resisted the compulsion of that evil wizards spell to stand your post~. Tell me, what's a girl gotta do to get away from these guys? I mean, it's not like I'm going anywhere. I'm certainly not a threat to you! And my arms are awfully tired hanging up here. I'm sure I could... make it worth your while~"

Ruby winks at the guard sensually.

Now that we have seen the results of action without thought, let's try cleverness as a tactic. Clearly, we have a couple mages of some sort, and a... strong man. Does anyone else have any valuable skills available to them?
