Sign me up. Oh, and I'll throw my vote in for Skype or forum.

I'll throw my vote in for forum. It's easiest to manage everyone's schedules that way.

If there's room, and timezones are convenient, I'll join up as well. Only experience with PnP to date is a single Pathfinder campaign, though. Don't particularly mind what format we play in, either.

Well, we've got enough players that if we do two separate games we could easily do it by timezone. It would make a change for me to not have to stay up all night to play a game. :p

As it is I'm fine with Hangouts or Skype, since I'm pretty sure a forum game would fail spectacularly.

I'm up for any kind of game, and I'm not picky about how we play it, although apparently I'm going to be running a game of Reign eventually which I've kinda started planning out.

I've never played before, and I have a pretty fluctuating schedule so I'd probably post at weird times, but if its a forum game I'd like to try it.

Depending on how we do it, I'd love to play a game. But it all depends on how we do it, with my schedule always changing and moving around.

I have some PnP experience with DnD 3.5 and Pathfinder, but I'm much better with indie games. Anyone here ever play Part Time Gods? Amazing game.

Actually, if that one seems interesting to anyone, I'd be happy to DM a game of that, probably play-by-post.

Hangouts or Skype I suppose would be best.

This actually looks kind of interesting, I'd be interested in giving it a go.

I'd prefer Skype/Hangout, since that feels a lot closer to sitting around a table, but I'd give Pbp a try too.

Part Time Gods looks pretty interesting. If you do decide to run a game, count me in.

What happened with all these posts in the thread?
It has been silent for a while. Has everyone made a new years resolution to try out RPG?
    Awesome.

Now I have an itch to try and GM something if there's anyone interested. Forum game is probably out, but I might cook up something over Skype (or if I figure out the hangout part) someday (the european time someone mentioned), I'd have details after the 8th of January in any case.
Might not turn into a regular thing.

I've heard that roll20 is pretty good, and is specifically designed for Skype-like gaming.

I've got my hands on a copy of Fiasco, a great system for making one session games, if anyone wants to experiment with skype or hangout for rpg'ing.

So I have this RPG database site on for a game I was playing. Old and dead project that I found somewhere. I think it evolved into something else but its been ages since I looked.

Kind of frustrated and bored with crap IRL, and looking for a way to kill some time and stress, so looking to expand it a bit.

So what would you want to see in a site like that? Character sheets, ideas, features? Give me things to steal credit for!

Anyone has ever tried the Game of Thrones RPG? They've edited a new version since they got the series going, but I was wondering if anyone had any comment on the game play? I'm considering starting a game soon with some friends and I like what I'm seeing so far. So any tips and advice are welcome.

I'm so game for Game of Thrones. We just need a time and program that's good for everyone so we can talk it out.

Have you checked it out? You have different archetypes you can play or you can simply go and make your own character. There's also the fact you can play with an existing house or you can create your own house for your group. Following your character's action, your house may earn glory, influence and wealth to build fortification, increase its domain or simply to host a tourney. There's also the intrigue gameplay which I'm checking right up.

I'd be down for AGoT quick game as soon as I finish reading the thing.

I too would be interested in a Game of Thrones RPG, though I'm not particularly experienced with pen and paper RPGing.

This could definately be interesting, especially since there are so many different areas and times to play around in. But the biggest problem that I can see would be player equality, if say, people choose to play as their own house, then well, only one person gets to be the lord, and sure it may seem like fun at first to role play as a maester, but if it's a combat heavy session, then you may feel like all you're being used for is knowledge rolls. Or even if you started out as a group of hedge-knights/mercenaries, eventually, people will want to escalate the game to the point where they all gain minor titles, but then you have the problem of people plotting against each other (which can be fun for some people, and definately fits the source material, but others may actually want to work together and have fun).

As such, a possible idea would be to steal an idea from Reign, and instead of having the players play different characters, have it so that at heart, they're something more, like say, a House, a mercenary band, or even just a group, although people would still have their own characters to use though to do things with though. As such, instead of wanting to get their character specifically ahead, the game is about getting the group ahead, and if you have to sacrifice the character you like to play to do so, then there's no real problem, just grab one of the others that you have been playing.
