So you are saying that, now that I am not a newbie, I can't make utterly stupid mistakes, like a human being?

It might have been a little stupid, but it was well-intentioned, so I don't think we can fault you for trying to help out.

    Smart ruse.

As for everyone else: Don't make stupid about turns. He did it with good intentions, and you congratulated him for it. WHen it became apparent that it was to see who fucked up...don't turn around and blast him for it when you commended him just a few posts before.

I haven't clicked the links even once...:( I'll click every once in a while from now on.

Oh yeah and Raven ++ on the clever ruse.

se7en: The ads that used to be at the bottom of the site. Raven’s Google AdSense account that already has accumulated revenue was revoke; that means no account, no ads and most of all no money.

It was a case of bad luck; misfortune due to good intention.

Raven pays a lot of money to keep this site up and running. Money out of his own pocket. It wasn't hard to ignore the ads and Raven left us with the ability to stop the ads from showing up in the first place. The ads are a way to cover the costs that a site as busy as this generates, we can't all lean on Raven to cover all the costs forever.

This site is going to get busy soon, and with that spike in traffic the cost of keeping the site running will also increase. A few unobtrusive adverts are a small price to pay to keep this site up and running.

I was talking about the websites who used adsense and got ripped off from it. There are loads of sites where google didn't pay them because of something or the other. In fact there is even a petition for it somewhere...

Aren't there other adverts that give the same amount of money like yahoo or something? How much money do you get from 1 click on 1 add?

For some odd reason I figured the first post was written with mass influence of sarcasm. I mean if it was really good news, wouldn't it, oh I don't know, go in announcements or somewhere appropriate?

Well link missed the post saying not to go crazy with the clicking, I think it was in the announcements, so if this thread was an announcement there'd be a chance he'd miss it again.

Heh, group dynamics are so much fun!

BTW, Link's punishment could be to go to some H/G fangirl site and ruin their adverts too :)

    Mwahaahaha!

Though now I feel a bit sorry for Link purely because he's so young, naive and his heart's in the right place. >_< *cough* I'm gonna have to go do something manly now...

When I was ready Raven's post I kept on thinking "Surely Google has something to detect something like this!" I guess I was right.
