Finding myself loving Chihaya and Hifumi, they're closing in on the waifu war.

Chihaya is a bit too airy for me. I'm playing with Japanese audio too, and I don't much care for her voice.

Makoto is on the right side of adorable, Futaba an example of being on the wrong side. One makes me feel like dating while the other makes me wanna simultaneously glomp and start polishing my shotgun. You know, for when Mishima comes sniffing.

I'm a bit too early on in Hifumi's s-link, but her going all D&D RP nerd while playing Shogi is also utterly adorable. The right adorable.

Jesus fuuuuuck this game is making me want to kill something right now. One-running Kamoshida's palace to the treasure was enough of a pain, but now I've sent the calling card and really need to grind to 11 to actually beat the perverted fuck and the security level in the castle is not cooperating with that endeavor. Oh, and this has to be done while preserving SP so I can win the boss fight too.

You know you can Quick Travel to the safe room right before the boss fight by pressing R1 at the entrance, right?

Yeah, but that's not the problem. It's needing to grind without using SP that's giving me fits. That and the constant spawning and fully aggro'd shadows due to the security level, which seems to never go below 70% no matter what I do.

Security level goes up if they see you before you initiate combat. Goes down when you win a battle. Ambush and don't be seen.

Btw, Ryuji is verging on aggressively unlikable territory. Makes me want to skip conversations he's in. Not good.

In the words of Futaba: 'What a douche...'

Already finished the palace now, but the issue I was having was that when you send the calling card it shoots the security level up to 99%. I could reliably get it back down to 70 but it would never go lower, even when I did everything right as far as ambushes (which was often not even possible because of the computer just spawning fresh shadows out of thin air that automatically detect and charge me). I eventually developed a pattern of being able to repeatedly run one of the lower rooms in which I could one-round all the enemies, and slowly gained the level I needed. Kamoshida went down easy once I had Media/Tarunda and was able to keep up with his damage output.

I haven't yet gotten to a point where I have any issue with him, but it sounds like a reverse Junpei (similar as the characters are in personality). That guy started out annoying as fuck and became progressively better as P3 went on.

The long stretch in the first palace in one day is insanely difficult. But you can easily push as far as the game allows every time in the second palace, at least.

Was about to rec that but assumed you were already doing it haha. I had Rakukaja/Media on my MC so set up on myself and tanked hits while focusing on supporting everyone else.

In late November and haven't even started two Social Links, been getting everyone else up instead. Late October/Early November spiked Social Link requirements by a ton so I've been grinding skills non-stop.

Generally waiting until I need to run 4/5 missions in Momentos and then clearing them out in a giant burst, it's such a nice throwback to P3.

Reminds me a little of FES, where the fatigue mechanic really made long runs difficult in the early game and things became much easier as it went on.

Finally saw Takemi in casual clothes. She looks so much better without the ridiculous porno shoes... Lol

Finally banged out the first three hours of this. First couple hours were a slow burn (as is usual for a Persona game) but the in medias res opening was really cool. First impressions, love the style, character designs are good, Igor's voice is terrible and I'm pretty sure not-Dojima is a pimp.

I love the third palace's music. Oh, and the battle theme is just amazing. The difficulty went up too - enemy access to second tier magic and aoe phys skills, with multiple enemies having no weaknesses or insta-kill weakness, which I don't have. Honestly, enemy getting a turn has almost wiped me a few times. Still only gotten one game over though, an ambush in the first palace that had all the enemies target my PC and kill him in that one turn lol.

Oh man, the music is just so chill and perfect. That Shapeshifter song, I know, will just stick with me for ages.

Third palace boss - LOL WTF WAS THAT - rapping Hitler? Comical, but I loved it.

Four confidants unlocking immediately after beating the third place is a lot too. Now I can call myself way too busy.

I ripped this straight from gfaqs, but I decided to make a super Shiki-Ouji. He starts with null phys resistances, so nice. Then he can easily learn Swift Strike (3-4 light attacks aoe, hilariously OP till lategame), triple auto-buffs from using Gallows, and jail him for Nuclear resist so he's got no weaknesses. Oh, and Apt Pupil too. Using Gallows to inherit skills and massive exp for one good Persona is clearly the path to power.

Just got Makoto, and I can see why all of you see her as best girl now. The doctor chick had been winning the waifu wars for most of my play, but that changed the instant class president unlocked her Persona.

Lol, yeah. She doesn't feel powerful, but looks a total badass, esp when she unlocks her persona.

I don't think I'll be using her for a bit anyway. No Social Link with her means no battle skills, and I get annoyed by party members that I can't tag with. I used Yusuke in the second palace and remember that getting on my nerves more than once. Just going to stick with the people I have some confidant ranks in (Ryuji/Ann/Morgana) for this one. Need to upgrade Ryuji's gear though. Never seem to have enough money in this game. Feels more like MegaTen than Persona in that regard.

Every character has grown on me to some extent the more I play, which is a massive plus for the game.

At the moment I'm in a four way tie between Yusuke, Goro, Sae and Makoto for my absolute favourite. Yusuke's social link is hilarious for the most part, but it does get serious later on.

Anyone think the game pushes Makoto as Canon romance? Or pushes her a bit more than the other characters?
