In a way, the only currency in circulation should be gold, because it is the only metal wizards can't produce.

Sure, maybe a counterfeit sickle wouldn't get past Gringotts... but it doesnt have to. You only need to con Madam Malkin.

So really the difference between G, S, K should be quantity of gold within. Shopkeepers have spell to confirm gold is present and boom, done.

That said, fics sperging into details of bimetalic standards isn't a pet peeve only because nobody does it. Methods od Rat being Wizard of Oz if you removed all redeeming qualities and replaced them with smug.

    Bane of my fucking existence.

I feel like I should include some meta shit in a story, where I describe Rodolphus as drinking a lot and thus having a markedly red nose.

    You know Bella and Lucius
    And Macnair and Rookwood
    Barty and Peter
    And Tony and Igor
    But do you recall
The drunkest dark wizard of all

    Rodolph the red-nosed wizard
    Had a very shiny nose
And when he had the sniffles
You would even say it grows

    All his Death Eater buddies
Used to sneer and call him names
    They never let poor Lestrange
    Join the muggle-baiting game

Alas, being told to pull his masters sleigh is not quite as happy an ending for Rudy as his namesake.

There is a disturbing number of fics where Rabastan and Rodolphus commit incest .

I've only ever seen that as something occuring offscreen as part of a '...and that's why Bella isn't so bad afterall' and I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about.

Yeah it's mostly offscreen, used to set up Bella with the rest of the characters.

Reading a Dragonball story. All of a sudden there's a Jewish friend for Gohan talking about how his Rabbi taught him to fight. Right. It's jarring enough I'm out of the story.

Is there an amount of times that something has to happen for it to be a pet peeve?

I think it falls under being jarring. Things that just don't mesh with the canon universe at all.

Yeah, I totally get dropping the story; it sounds like an author SI and those are generally immediate drops for me. I just wondered if there was some kind of lower limit on the amount of instances of something you don't like for it to be a pet peeve.

I don't see it very often but parkour Naruto. Author goes on about every leap and jump he makes and of course everyone(INCLUDING KAKASHI) who sees him is so impressed by this...in a ninja village.

What makes this worse is that these stories it seems impossible for Naruto to simply walk somewhere, every scene change has to have him jumping and grabbing window sills, loose bricks and whatever else is sticking out of the wall!
Of course we cant fail to mention the impressive feat of strength and agility as naruto clears a 5ft jump between buildings, when the chapter before had the whole team running through trees and walking up walls.

Like i said, don't see it very often but its just about the dumbest thing i have ever read and even small amounts make me close the story.

(sorry for any bad grammar and/or punctuation,I am trying to improve)

Doo do de doo rainy night let's read sum story... hmm GoT let's have a Robb story. Pairing doesn't matter. Just a good old Stark wank.

Search: Robb, English, 783 stories there should be something decent here...

Hmmm.... Missing Stark OC, Missing Baratheon OC, Robb marries Lannister OC, Robb marries Bolton OC, OC story where Robb is tagged... no this will not do.

    Filter: NOT OC

Whew, that cuts out about 40% of stories, good.

    First story... Jamie/OC, Robb/OC

    Second story... Tyrion/OC

Goddamnit. OC's suck 99% of the time, but ffs if you are going to write an OC that is plot critical, a major character, or ends up married to the person I'm actually trying to read stories about, then that 100% has to be one of the four character tags that ffnet gives you.
