    That's a rather incomplete paraphrase.

She said that her original intention was that the "Marauder" was whomever was in possession of the map. The map was for use by any given person engaged in marauding. But then fanon use made the "the Marauders" and JKR consciously decided to take on that usage.

Does this mean that there's no hope for The Minister's Daughter? Damn, I was hoping it would be finished someday.

Yeah, I'd say that if you bully someone then you're a bully.

    Don't worry here's a spoiler

Harry uses the Elder Wand to incinerate a whole village of zombie giants, but is forced to sacrifice all of his teammates in the process. He rage kills every bad guy within sixty kilometers. He's too badly injured to apparate, but Patricia's not too injured to fuck him. Sadly, she gives Harry an STD (which he laters gives to Ginny via a soulbond link. I explain this process in depth in the story). They run into Nicholas Flamel (still alive, fuck you very much Albus) and he gives them an STD cure which they conveniently can't give to Ginny because she's too far away. Kingsley slips in the bathtub and cracks his skull, Ginny slowly passes away from uncurable magical aids, and Harry later gets elected Minister of Magic. He marries Patricia and together the French and English magical governments combine.

Well, I'd be limiting the scope of my post then, wouldn't I? Although, I would love to see some more updates, so if it helps you get motivated, then I wouldn't mind directing it only at you. :)

Ouch, that was a cheap shot.

This is basically arguing semantics, but I personally wouldn't call someone out for being a bully if they decked someone for flushing someone else's head in a toilet.

Yeah, that fanon trope always bugged me, considering we have Remus Lupin basically telling Harry that he's a dumbass for aiming to disarm rather than fuck up Death Eaters in book 7.

You could take that as a hint, that the OotP ain't shy of using lethal force in their fights against the DE, but the books are kinda silent on that subject, IIRC.

I really hate it when authors use an extraordinary premise that breaks the rules of the fictional universe, but then never go back to explain or justify it. "After the final battle, Harry is transported into the body of his 11-year-old self." And the strange time travel incident is never mentioned again, at least never past the stage of adjustment. If asked, the author pulls a Bellisario about it. Really?! The fact that such a feat proved possible at all is not at least a little bit noteworthy? Like, the characters just go, "oh, something mind-fuckingly impossible just happened to me, with the possible implication of an abrupt end to the universe I knew and loved and grew up in, and here I am in this strange new world... oh well, what's done is done, better make the most out of it"? You might as well have included a paragraph heading to go with it that said, The Author Was Here, because that's about the effect that it has on the reader.

I get very well that this happens because what they actually want to write is a story where Harry is given the unfair advantage of past memories, rather than a story about the metaphysical implications of time travel or God's plans for the fate of Harry Potter, but goddamn go and find a better premise for your story. Filter out your bad ideas until what's left is a choice of storylines without huge jarring inherent flaws. Make it an AU if you must. Just about anything is better than leaving those hanging loose ends around till the end of the story.

There's this rule in writing that I swear by: nothing has a place in your story unless it has both an in-universe and an outside-universe (i.e. literary) logic to it. If there are no external reasons for having it there, it's gratuitous or boring. If there are no internal reasons for having it there, then it's absurd, contrived, and reeks of obvious, fourth-wall-breaking divine fiat.

Without even reading it: The fact that, for once in the history of HP fan fiction, Harry said, "No!" to Draco's veela mate nonsense, instead of saying, "Well, we hate each other's guts and I'm straight, but... sure, I'll be your mate and lover for the rest of my life. Now, just let me bend over..."

That, alone, would automatically make it better than 99% of all Draco veela mate stories (of which there are a possibly surprising and definitely depressing amount).

    PEEVES!

    People confusing wary/weary/leery.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the existence of the word "leery" is what causes the vast majority of weary/wary mistakes.

Are you wary of someone? Then you're being cautious and watchful about them.

Are you weary of someone? Then you're tired of them (and their bullshit). :facepalm

Are you leery of someone? Then you're as wary of them as you were of the first person.

Any magical animal (or animagus form thereof) that has "royal" in the name.
Royal dragons, royal griffins, royal hippogriffs, royal *insert element/shadow here* wolves, royal *insert element/shadow here* tigers...

    Just stop it.
You're a royal embarrassment. When I read this shit, I'm embarrassed to find that I'm doing so, and embarrassed for the author and the royal cock-up they're writing.
    --

    Phantom Chapters
Not to be mistaken for chapters that aren't really chapters (because they're just messages saying there isn't a new chapter yet), a phantom chapter is when you get an alert e-mail that there's a new chapter, but that chapter NEVER actually appears.
    --

Adapt/Adept - Usually in the form of, "I am not adapt at grammar. Hurrrrr."
    --

It's "far and away" or "by far," not "by far and away."
    --

"...one fail swoop." Really? Really? That's a self-fulfilling phrase if I've ever seen one.
    --

    Undue/Undo
I wish that I could undo your undue disdain for proofreading.
    --

    Magical user/Magic user
Uh, so I guess the first one is a user who is magical: Like a wizard who smokes crack, or a unicorn who takes advantage of others without regard for their feelings.

The second one is someone who uses magic.

The first one tells you that someone is a user and that they coincidentally happen to be magical, but it doesn't tell you WHAT they use - it doesn't tell you that what they use is magic!

The second (magic user or magic-user) tells you straight out, in two easy to spell and understand words, that the person you are talking about is a User Of Magic!

I just don't understand why people do this 'magical user' nonsense. Don't they know what WORDS mean'? Don't they?

    Don't they... :(

I think they mean "one fell swoop".

That made me laugh out loud.
