Is it even worth tracking down the profile they're using on DLP? I assume someone could look at the users who have accessed your story thread between the update the the plagiarism.

 

Matching the users who accessed the thread between my posting and theirs with the people who accessed the oher fics in question should narrow it down.

Your WbA update to the FFNet update would provide a much smaller time period to look at, though. If the user responsible was identified, however, would banning them achieve anything? Presumably they would just rejoin with an IP mask.

 

Honestly, there isn't much to be done. This will keep happening until the guy stop getting kicks out of it or someone fucks his computer up. He doesn't seem all that disheartened from bans or the collective hating, so anything ff.net does will be a temporary countermeasure.

We've found hints of existence of three admins, but only one of them seems to respond to any abuse reports. All in all, far too few.

It seems that he's deliberately trolling DLP, but doesn't have the balls to keep the stories up till getting banned. Unfortunately, the stories were removed by the thief and not the admins; he's uploading new content at the moment. I'm getting email alerts from this user.

Jon, you can still send the email, since he just reposted Abjuration. The more DMCAs we can get tied to this account, the better. In fact just recently there was a case where admins removed the account regardless of the thief removing the stories.

So just noticed that a guy named joeducie is posting stories made by DLP members: Renegade cause, The one he feared, aunatoned, What you leave behind etc. Here is his account https://www.fanfiction.net/u/4737671/joeducie .

 

I keep hoping he will upload that story by Santi, so that I can download it in its entriety. It's too much work otherwise.

That's almost forty stolen stories at the moment.

He also brought back some the stories posted last week with the story recovery function, so anyone involved at that time should check if their story is back up.
