I think only those who have read the book will understand this plot bunny, or anyone who has ever spent a good 7 hours watching zombie movies...

We've all read about harry picking up some book that will change his life.

    The book I'm suggesting...
    THE
    ZOMBIE
    SURVIVAL GUIDE

    Rules
Don't change the title to inferi, if you really want to use that name... describe it as the zombies class. Like how a kangaroo is a marsupial(sp?)

-There has to be some outbreak somehow and zombies are running amuk. They're biting wizards too and the wizards being the idiots they are don't know what to do.

-Make up some reason to explain why they can't apperate... maybee zombies are attracted to magic and they swarm in on the wizards when they reappear. This means having harry hideout at hogwarts would be a bad idea... though its up to you.

Were talking world epidemic. A class 4 for those who have read the book.

You don't have to treat the book as an actual serious guide... the story can be humorous. As long as Harry pulls the book out every now and then to consult. You don't have to go into detail like the name of the virus and all that. Maybee Harry picks up a couple muggles along the way and they freak out when they find out that their leader is doing everythign according to a joke book.

The rest is up to you.

Read the book. Might be funny. But wizards would have a much easier time, as silent casting makes no noise, which zombies are attracted to. Also, you have to deal with the question of whether or not they're vulnerable to Avada Kedavra. Or dark arts.

Reason for not apparating: Zombies have excellent hearing. Better than a dog's. Since apparition makes a popping noise, it'd be a dinner bell for zombies.

    Will add more later.

Maybe as a suggestion anyone who would want to take up the story.

I'm a big fan of Muggles trying to gain an upper hand over wizards. They through their experiments inadvertently create a zombie that absorbs magic draining a wizard when it's in their presence. They don't die because of it, but they only have the most rudimentary of magic left to them. Any big spells is like a giant sign with speakers and blinking lights that attract zombies faster than a shark to blood.

Also maybee the zombies are somewhat resistant to magic. They don't have to become stronger but they have a certain immunity to it. That means any wizards that try to battle them, will pretty much just be flashing lights at the creatures. Causes no effect, or their spells getting sucked up into the creatures. Maybee magic makes them last longer? They don't deteriorate as quickly.

I'm looking for an actual zombie fanfic here... Remeber this is a class 4 so That means end of the world scenario... Harry should be trying to stay alive. Scavenging... perhaps capturing a zombified malfoy to beat up on whenever he feels liek it.

And I would have to say Avada shouldn't be possible. as it's too easy an out.
