No idea to be honest. Maybe follow Harry in this new world where he is considered a god by the muggles; being the son of Lily I would imagine that he would have been educated that liberty, equality, etc. should be what one should strive for and as such he tries to change the situation.

Or it could simply be the building up of this world from the pov of Voldemort or Harry (if Voldemort decided to change his plan following his first demise) who would try to stop Voldemort from creating the war.

I'd like to a see a good muggle vs. wizards too.

Here's my idea. Not exactly a bunny per se, but I'm kind of leery about what POV I want to put it in, and how to tie the past in with the present without it being completely overbearing.

Metempsychosis: From 1941 to 1944, Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor Harrison Grey was the only person on Earth Tom Riddle respected. From 1995 onwards, the events inside the Graveyard cause Harry Potter to remember just who he used to be; the man who loved the Heiress of Slytherin and created the most feared Dark Lord in the history of the Wizarding World.

A serious take on HP/Fem!TMR, inspired by T3t's Thunderstorm and Lungs' D Minor. The idea so far is to have it as third person in multiple POVs (Dumbledore's first). What really gave me this idea was Hide Your Eyes by Evandar (A Naruto Time-Travel OneShot with Itachi/Fem!Naruto), and I've always loved the Observer POV, especially if the observer is completely in the dark about the reasons of whatever changed.

It's alright to post up a sample right here, right? Or am I better off just planting a link and you guys tear it apart from, say, ff.net?

I can totally see this as being workable, the detail you're putting in this is actually refreshing. The thing is it really needs a plot that can change at the slightest notice and still not run itself into a dead end. Considering you're going to give the Dursley's a more... hospitable character, having something like an underground organization where the muggles know about the wizards and are basically a modern-day "kill all magic users" bunch, yet the wizards don't know a thing about them... Honestly, Voldemort really needs a kick up the ass, because he was a freaking child when the Americans atom bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima, he had to have heard of it at his orphanage some way or another. It's a huge flaw to his character, dismissing the muggles when they kill the whole lot of witches and wizards in a second, and can really be exploited.

Besides, who's to say the muggles can't see Hogwarts or Diagon Ally from space? I doubt the wards were tailored for the likes of Google Earth.

Less a plot bunny, more a plot device.
Snape was always Voldemort's man, but he was never how Voldemort "found out" the prophecy.
He was voldemort's dupe, to lend legitimacy to the false prophecy given to Dumbledore, with Voldemort's own agent as the prophet.

Trelawney is voldemort's puppet. She drops the "prophecy" on the headmaster, and from there I have vaguely fored ideas with no true direction. Voldemort using it as an opportunity to steal harry to turn him into an assassin? Sympathetic dark side, "kill the muggles before they kill us all with their nukes and chemicals and whatevers"? Voldemort knowing a true prophecy that paints Ron or Luna as the chosen one, and so he diverts attention away from them, so he can get them later?

An idea I have been thinking about for awhile now

I have been thinking, Magic does the impossible, creating things out of thin air, manipulating nature and how things were created to be and a lot more. Basically they have the power of God.

So I had this idea that someway, somehow a Wizard was able to steal a fraction or a drop God's power, naturally this should have led to their immediate extinction, but something happened and they were spared, but they were given strict set of rules for their existence, one of the most important ones been that they would not mess with the natural odder of things, that is the Muggles and the Muggle world and that their sons and daughters and so on should never seek the power they had momentarily gained.

However Voldemort somehow figured out this long forgotten past and he started to seek this power, what he considers as "true magic", he is stopped and momentarily defeated by the "Keepers of truth" champion Dumbledore and at the risk of been killed he goes into hiding.

Now this story would basically be about Harry who is not the Boy-Who-Lived but who through the years makes a name for himself so that when Voldemort returns the mantle of "Champion" is handed down to him.

This is just the framework of the story I would like, question is, is it something you would want to read?

Oooohboy. I hope you're referring to Spinoza's God and not... a Born-Again Cross in the sky :\

    Trash.

I'd read this. But I don't know why it'd be good - I just don't see where the hook is. Unless you're a fantastic writer, this is going to be an upward struggle.

You know who'd pull this off really well?

    Barely anyone.

IF someone could pull it off, do you think its an idea you would like to see?

I do have an idea of how I would be able to set him apart from other wizards but that is if I do write it. Unfortunately I don't consider myself to be a fantastic author on par with DLP's authors, but you have to start somewhere right?
If I were to write it, what would you suggest I change?

Why can't magic be its own entity? Voldemort would just have to access another aspect of it (it's magic - you can think of literally anything).

Why can't Harry have driven Voldemort off?

Also, if you're going to build that world, you really have to draw your readers in with worldbuild or characterization - I really can't just give you a hook or something.

So, find a hook as well.

    Dresden Files/Hellbound Heart crossover.
    --

Justin DuMorne watched intently as Harry and Elaine fumbled with the Box's lacquered edges.

His command to them had been very, very simple.

    "Open it."

    --

Just a rough idea - not too sure about it.

Justin's enthrallment of Harry and Elaine succeeded - soon after, he encounters a merchant, who sells him the Box.

He had heard the legends, those of power and pleasure beyond understanding that were linked to the Box, and he decides to unlock it, offering up Elaine and Harry as (what he falsely believes to be) the required sacrifices.

His thralls accomplish the physical task of unlocking the Box, their agony and pain from being enthralled acting as the required keys; unfortunately, as it was not their desire to open the Box, the Cenobites come and claim Justin, instead.

When Justin is dragged kicking and screaming into their Realm (which is neither beyond the Outer Gates, apart of the Never-never, apart of Hell or Heaven or any other known Dresdenverse location, but somewhere new), the enthrallment is brutally broken, and Harry and Elaine are freed, albeit with side-effects.

An unseen taint is left on both of them, however, one that other supernatural elements can sense; the Denarians in particular are terrified of the two, as are numerous older Outsiders.

The White Council fears this unknown taint, and orders their deaths.

Harry and Elaine stick together, forming an A/U of the book series with a more 'survivalist' angle to it, alongside the shadow of something unseen lurking in the background - something that is manipulating everything, including the rumoured Black Council, without anyone being the wiser.

An interesting idea, but it would take a fantastic author to pull off a second-level manipulation (somebody manipulating the Black Council, who are manipulating everybody else).

I've seen so many "Magic its own entity" stories that it's starting to get overdone. Although, since so many of them bombed it completely by turning it into some cult religion it'd probably be considered an original idea if it's pulled off well. Granted, I've only just found DLP, so that may change.

As long as it doesn't turn into this, I'd consider reading it.

Just please, please, don't have Harry turn into a Unicorn. His sexuality is questioned enough as it is.

I was right with you up until the whole running away from the White Council part. They wouldn't stand a chance. Canon is that unless they cosied up to something gargantuanly powerful (like Titania, for instance), they'd be hunted down and killed within the week.

I think that's a big maybe, Aekiel. A picture doesn't serve as a very good focus for a tracking spell, and it's perfectly believable that there's nothing better to use in the aftermath. It's not unbelievable that a minor demon/fae would be able to give them enough information to protect themselves against a weak tracking spell.

There's a difference between a weak tracking spell and one done by the Wardens. It wouldn't matter if they used every resource at their disposal (barring Lea, as the case seems to be), the Council would find them. They're not incompetent, they're not lazy, they do not give up. This is what the Wardens do all the damn time, and they're very, very good at it.
