    @Ludwig I'm pretty sure most people can read/analyze/critique at a higher level than they can produce.

    You don't have to give feedback as a writer. Give feedback as a reader. Some parts of the story may have gotten boring for you and you found yourself skimming. Some line of dialogue may have sounded corny or out of character. Perhaps you got lost at some point and had to scroll back up to see what was going on. These things are opinions, yes, but if enough reviewers point out the same thing then it is very likely an issue.

    @PinstripedPajamas' newest work has left us all with some unanswered questions, I think. The one most appropriate for this thread, though, is how to review smut. Of course the usual handy tips mentioned in this thread already apply, but one wonders if the involvement of adult material doesn't change the reviewing process somehow. Things like fetishes, the raunchiness, the clumsy ways of trying to avoid repeating describing things as 'members' and 'insides'...
