Do you know what, I think I'm going to downgrade my vote to 0.1/5. The last chapter was just... I don't even have words to explain it.

Yes, the story is not full of plotty goodness or a good action scene but it gets points for its laugh factor. I, for one, enjoyed reading it. I though the concept wass funny though only because I had read another one like it. I love the way Harry is in this one. Not a stupid Gryffindor but a calculating Slytherin.

This fic is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoy the humor, though the incompetence of Dumbledore and the alliance with the Goblins is infuriating.
    It's a decent time-waster. 3/5

Guilty pleasure is the right word here, yeah. The one and only thing that annoyed me was the early chapters and sucking of America's cock. You knew it was coming when you read about this reporter chick from 'across the pond' but still, the only thing that made me cringe.

Everything else I probably read a thousand times over and were this fic to take it's self seriously I'd probably drop it. As it is, it makes for a decent 5 min a chapter read to kill time with.

    3/5

The last few chapters have lost everything that was unique with this fic and made it into just another indie!Harry that we have all read 5000 times before. Hopefully the author will realize this and write up a good finish to the story before something that was 4/5 turns into 2/5.

Seconded. It's long since killed whatever little it had in the beginning.

To be fair, like I said earlier, the idea did have potential. It could have been very well done if the newspaper thing was the only idea used, and not the whole indy!Harry cliche tribe along with it.

Of course, it devolved into nonsense pretty early, but there was a faint bit of hope until recent chapters... now it's just fail.

This story was awful in the beginning, and it's only getting worse. It's kind of a guilty pleasure and a quick read for me so I'm still reading anyway, but in reality it's a 1 or 2/5. And, yeah, I realize this is just a repeat of what everyone else has said, but oh well...

I honestly thought it was doing well for itself at first. An idea I'd never read before and somewhat original implementation of that idea made me think this would be worth the read. And not just as a guilty pleasure read either.

The easiest way to put it:

If the author focused on only the articles and the impact they had, this would have been good. Instead, the story falls into almost every Indy!Harry plothole in existence and then some. If it wasn't for the inheritance/emancipation/goblindrabble/lordhood/bashing/blahblahblah, then this could have been one for the Library...maybe.

As of a few chapters ago, this is not even Recycle Bin worthy. The newest chapters only solidify this.

So... for my first post in a long time I'm going to state:

    Long live Indy!Harry.

Anyway, just because it's been done before (over, and over..) doesn't make it a worthless endeavor. I enjoyed reading Harry stir up all sorts of trouble with the letters, and the reactions everyone had (while not realistic) were entertaining. The recent chapters don't bother me in the slightest - I expected it to be honest.

I guess I fall into the "guilty pleasure" category - except I really don't feel guilty about anything anymore. :p

To DLP's current standards, however, it's not up to par.

It was a guilty-pleasure fic with a semi-original twist that was possibly a 3/5...but then the authors apparently became idiots. It definitely wasn't this disgusting, earlier.

I basically read this piece as a bit of guilty pleasure type humor. Its kind of entertaining and it does take like 4 minutes to read.

This story has lost all its novelty and it's going down the same drain where crap indy!harry stories go.

3/5 for it's spelling and some moments of brilliance in the beginning.
    -1 for ultra-helpful!Goblins though.

I liked it. It was the first fic I've read that had Harry involved with journalism so the novelty took a while to wear out. It started being like all the other indy Harry a couple of chapters ago so we don't know how it'll turn in. Hopefully it will only focus on that for only a few chapters.

Well, on the other side the goblins and unspeakables kinda spoiled it. It's still a good story but it's starting to drag. The plot is a little too rambling and the plot is going nowhere. The constant idiocy of the order so they won't realize Harry is Oliver is starting to annoy me but I guess you got to take the bed with the good. Anyway 3/5 for now and I hope it won't become like all the indy fics out there.
