I just somehow caught it after healing in the Pokemon Center. Good times...

And I have exactly one shiney pokemon in Heart Gold, Zubat.

 

If you used your Pokewalker to actually link to others, the trainer house in Viridian will have their teams (lowered to level 50) available to battle. Every person you defeat (up to 11) will give you a BP. You can fight them once a day, or reset the clock to 11:59pm and let it roll over to grind BP much faster than anything else.

About 5 minutes ago I started playing again, new game. Planning on getting a Slowpoke and evolving it to Slowking asap, need a kings rock to do that. Also need a trading partner. Can anybody here help me out?

 

I have a spare king's rock, and if you have wifi, i can trade. You'll be getting a japanese one if you want it, since I'm playing the jap versions.

 

You know what I hate? Event pokemon. It's bad enough that you have to buy 8 different games to get all the pokemons, but then to actually have to go places and do things? That is the opposite of video game fun. It's made even worse that the event pokemon are usually really cool.

- New Pokemon, of course: A very murder-happy eagle (Normal/Flying, for a change), a very murder-happy beaver (Normal), an evolution of the pink monstrosity from a few months earlier (Psychic type) and a tusked little Larvitar-esque thing (Dragon type). Plus official reveals of the green cell Pokemon and black goth girl thing and the fuzzy bat thing (All three Psychic type). Big psychic love this gen.

Other notes of interest: Three rivals - two childhood friends (One a smart guy and one a ditzy ADHD girl or something, who both get the starters you don't pick) and a dude called "N" who wants to separate Pokemon from humans. Activist beatings, ahoy!

- Version differences: Entire locations (One version with White Forest and the other with Black City) and some cities will look different according to game.

- 3 on 3 Battles have this whole crazy strategy to them. For example, the Pokemon your using on the far left won't be able to hit the enemy Pokemon on the far right.

So... yay's abound?

 

Certainly sounds pretty cool, I'm loving that Eagle thing, though the other new designs shown are a little...funky.

 

Agreed, Wargle looks the shit. I wonder if it has a evolutionary or pre-evolutionary form.

 

Yeah, Wargle looks pretty awesome, but as soon as I heard the name all I could think about was this:

 

Do you two rival travel with you in this one? It talks about character progression and constant advice. I think that would be pretty cool.

Then I wouldn't feel so lonely when I'm in the cave where you have to use flash or the ghost tower.

 

The newest Pokemon Sunday features live battle scenes with the 7 new pokemon- Mushana, Kibago, Koromori, Minezumi, Gochiruzeru, Rankurusu, and Wargle. Also, some dialogue scenes, and moving, in-battle sprites of rivals Cheren and Belle, and a short tour of the Pokemon Global Link, where you can catch pokemon not from Isshu. In the vid, they show a Pikachu being caught.

And man, Wargle looks bad to the fucking ass.

 

This week's Pokemon Sunday has an actual, complete Triple Battle sequence, with 4 Pokemon on each team. The video quality's not too good, but it's watchable.

It actually looks pretty damn fun.

The last minute or so of video concerns the legendary Pokemon Bikutini (Victini), and is available in considerably higher quality here.

Victini is given No. 000 in the Pokedex, and can only be obtained through use of a Liberty Ticket, an item that will be available for exclusive download from 9/18 to 10/18 at Nintendo Wifi spots. Dunno how that'll work out for various international releases.


EDIT: Also found this, which shows the first bits of the game from the title, to getting your starter pokemon, to your first rival battles. It appears that Cheren chooses whichever pokemon that has the superior type, while Belle gets the one weaker than yours. The vid then continues to show you various new Abilities and moves from currently known Gen 5 pokemon.

 

Why does japanese gaming television look so much better than the shit we get here?

 

Because here in the US, we actually have space to play sports. In Japan, the emphasis we put on athletics would be impossible, simply because they don't have the space for as many athletic fields as we do.

For once, getting alternate versions of the games seems to make legit sense. Instead of a dozen or so exclusive Pokemon, there are aesthetic differences between Black and White within the game (which is shown in the video Lutris linked), and even a location that's entirely unique to each game. Not much, admittedly, but more than there has ever been to separate the games.

Half excited, half not. The world looks neat, the Pokemon (mostly) not as much. Might wait until Grey (likely third game in the set) comes out.

 

That's my starter pokemon in Pearl, I don't know how it happened, but I like it. :awesome

By the by, when I picked Chimchar as a starter I got Darkrai and when I picked Piplup I got a Shaymin. The last one is nothing to brag about tough.
