I walked around my old alma mater today (alongside about 151 other people after pokemon) and got tons of things for my Day 2. Very nice.

But what do you guys do about extra items from pokestops? My bag got full and I threw out a bunch of potions and a few balls/revives. Is there anything else to do with that stuff? Any way to sell it for coins? I'd assume not, since coins are the "RL currency items," but this one dude swore he saw the option somewhere.

Just toss battle items. Focus on collecting.

I toss my pokeballs semi regularly.

*nod* I don't want to buy coins, but damn if another of those temp incubators wouldn't be amazing. I got one for free and for a while was hatching 2x eggs at once.

Was actually looking at those as well - doesn't look horribly expensive, though I realise once you start spending money it tends to accumulate quickly. Considered buying a double incubator and get some power hatching going on a slow 10k+ run tomorrow..

Though I'm starting to realise I will be stopping every few meters because of a certain buzzing

Egg incubators are totally worth it. I've bought a whole bunch at this point, it really helps.

Drove up to Long Beach today since I heard about a Dratini farm. Hot damn, they were right. Found 3 in 5 minutes.

Also kind of confirmed my personal joke to friends about them spawning at golf courses. >.>

Well, update time. My second day with Pokemon Go. I went from Level 3 to Level 6 in a few hours, chose Team Mystic and caught a few more Pokemon.

One of them was a Squirtle, which is cool because now I only need a Bulbasaur to have all 3 starters.

So... I've now caught enough Dratinis to fully evolve one to Dragonite and have candies left to power him up.

Then I saw the DPS/Defense chart and found out that Vaporeon, Slowbro, Blastoise, and Golem are basically the strongest 'mons in the game.

Question: does anyone else have problems with the Pokemon Footprints? They are bugged for me, always showing three footprints even if I'm standing on top of the pokemon in question.

It makes finding anything extremely difficult.

The footprints are separate from the Pokemon who pop up randomly. Footprints are for specifically hunting Pokemon.

The way it works is, when you open the footprints list it should appear in a grid (Provided there's enough for more than a line). The top left is the closest to you and bottom right farthest away.

You "track" Pokemon by moving a certain direction. If the Pokemon in the top left moves to top centre then it's further away. This way you can figure out the vague direction in which a Pokemon is hiding.

The fucked it up. They changed the Footprints to work on a city level. The old street level was about 60m for the first foot print. Now it's about 600m.

Basically footprints and "catch maps" from your Pokemon worked off the same function. They changed the catch maps to city level to protect player privacy, but that also changed footprint distance to city level, effectively killing off urban hunting while helping rural.

First day hunting since it came out I didn't get any new Pokemon. Will post later but I am at 84 different types. Best is Slow Bro followed by Golduck.

How are they calculating for the uncatchable legendaries?

Dragonite's are prized primarily because they are cost efficienct to level with a 50 cp boost for each power up investment. Right now at least in New York City that's a bit more prized. There's enough jolteon's, overpowered electrodes and a metric ton of grass type varieties to handle it.

I guess they looked into the code of the game and got the data.

It's a massive bug. Not only the paw prints (you'll never get less than 3 now), but their proximity order too.

    You're not the only one.

Yeah, the 3 footprint bug started like 2-3 days ago, it has nothing to do with a larger range- you'll see a pokemon next to you, as the only thing on the tracker, but still be at 3 footprints.

I have tall grass in my backyard, happens every time. Catchable on my screen, only thing on the tracker, 3 footprints.

They need to fix this so badly, I missed 4 Dratinis yesterday because of it.

Been getting 'Unable to authenticate. Please try again' [Sweden] for a couple of hours - however when I type the wrong account/password it says so. Just stressed servers or something more insidious? Google FU suggests the former but getting quite antsy, my hatching scheme failed spectacularly due to this..

Is there anyway to throw away eggs? I want to get rid of my 2kms and work on bigger ones.
