Speaking anecdotally, and living in Phoenix, I can tell you that fire types are very prevalent here. Charmander, growlithe, ponyta, etc. are found with fair regularity. It's the water and grass types that are pretty much non-existent, unless you map out a spawn near a canal or something. In my area of north Phoenix there's nothing.

I did catch a wild Flareon the other day at 1300 CP. At my measly 19 level that became my strongest pokemon.

Hopefully when I visit the beach in LA next month I can fill out my water pokemon requirement.

It's a joke that Ash leaves behind all his pokemon when travelling to a new region except for Pikachu.

Found a Blastoise outside my house just now!

Still waiting for an electric type. There are none in the wild around my area and my only hope is for my 10k egg to give me an electabuzz but knowing my luck, I will hatch a pinsir which i have over 10 of. . All the gyms here are held by water, fire, and grass types.

An electric type will only help with one of those. Grab a rock type and you're set.

You're better off raising your own Vaporeon since all the electric types are on the ass end of nowhere for the scale of actually killing Vaporeon.

A Jolteon vs Vaporeon of the same CP has the Vaporeon winning 100% of the time due to superior attack.

A lower CP vaporeon will crush a Jolteon.

Sad news for Nests: Silph Road research is starting to show that maybe you only get shitty IVs from nests.

The 30 Abras I caught today certainly followed that trend, none of them had a max potential over 73%.

I had noticed the charmanders I had been farming at a different nest had all been shitters, but I thought that was just bad luck.

My 10k egg just hatched into an onxy, which is pretty useless around here. its a low CP and there are to many water types to really use it effectively. How do you check your pokemons IVs?

Doubt it. The dratini nest I was at gave me a 93% IV Dratini.

So I have had a few zubats who were so far away on the capture screen that I literally could not throw a pokeball far enough to hit them.

Same for me. Zubat just eat up my pokeballs and they usually run away before they can be caught. I just ignore them now since I am low on pokeballs.

    You know whats annoying?

Abras. When I was at the nest farming them, they held true to game- If the first ball didn't catch them, they ran. Every single time.

I caught around 30, but had another 10-15 run on me.

I don't mess around with a Abra or other rare spawns, razzberry, ultra ball, curve ball at at least a great circle. 95% capture rate.

Although since ihave depleated the local supply of Pokemon my ultra ball count is 115 now.

Im level 16 and my highest is still 7xx CP. Almost at my first mass Evo though, currently 60 possible evolutions, plus 7 eggs that's going to be timed. Hopefully that boost will help me catch up a bit after my vacation on the Pokemon desolate coast.

On a cheerier note I just heard of a Dratini nest in the city. Going to camp it with a friend all evening for the Dragonite after the boost.
