Does anyone have an extra Thick Club? I have a Cubone I'd like to use. I only just got this game, though, so I don't really have anything to trade for it. =\

I've found one shiney in this playthrough, a Zubat. Luckily I was training my Sceptile, who knows false swipe. Caught it.

Also, anyone have any tips for the legendaries? I caught the birds, and Suicune just fine, but whenever I go after either of the other beasts, Lugia, or Mewtwo, they always get free even if they're paralyzed and at one hp.

Try and stack status effects like sleep, freeze, paralyzed, caught Ho-oh using bout 6 ultra balls.

Also just beat the Elite Four using this sexy beast:

Try using Dusk Balls for Mewtwo instead of Ultra Balls. You can buy them in the Pokemart at Blackthorn City.

    Plus, they look cooler.

Also, when you're going to catch Mewtwo bring Mew with you. It freaks the fuck out.

Ok so I started earlier and was messing around a bit and my team so far is:

    Cyndaquil
    Bellsprout
    *Lv 15 a piece

Looking to add a water, ground, and electric. Any suggestions?

I always go for an Ampharos as my electric one, it's damn awesome and learns Thunderpunch upon evolution. Jolteon may be faster but Ampharos packs more punch.

^Jolteon is both faster and has a higher special attack value. Ampharos' attack value isn't that stellar either, so thunder punch is a mediocre move choice for it at best anyway.

Thunder Punch (Electric type x1.5)(mediocre attack value) < Thunder (Electirc type x1.5)(upper class special attack value)

Electivire and Magnezone are always good choices IMHO (Electivire is also an effective Steel type pokemon).

I'm trying to get one of every type as my main team. Only problem is, normally in Crystal (that I still play alot) the electrics you don't have access to until way past Goldenrod and I like to start my team young (better stats in the long run). I used to go Graveler for my ground but i'm opting out on him due to a horrendous SP DEF. and normally Poliwag for my water. Since this is a remake he's not usually where he is in G/S/C earlier on near Azalea. :(

Ampharos is beast, i got Thunder, Iron Tail, Discharge, Power Gem on him atm. Wiped the floor with the Elite Four with him at 50.

I'm too lazy to look, but what route is he on? I'm going to shark Mew (because i'm cool, and he'll be my Psychic).

Oh yeah, Forsaken, i'm using No$GBA (freezes on the 66th event) and it works 5x better than DesMuME.

So far, I'm pretty sure the only way to get Ampharos is to evolve Flaffy (Mareep's evolution). He's pretty much the only electric type early on in the game. I ended up not having one when I went through the elite 4.

Hm.. what else are you looking for?

For water and ground, consider Wooper. He's immune to electric, but takes 4X damage from grass. He's the only one I can think of off the top of my head, because I used totodile.

As for ground, you can't go wrong with Onyx! Plus, it'll let you use Steelix later.

Actually, according to Bulbapedia, Ampharos has superior Sp.Atk to Jolteon. The only real reason you'd want Jolteon is because of its speed (which is admittedly awesome) and it's superior SP.Def. Ampharos has it beat in all other circumstances.

    Do you mean Magnezone, perchance?

Also, don't knock Lanturn. Granted, you can't get one until you get the Good Rod in Cianwood, whereupon you can catch Chinchou in various places, and the stats aren't exceptional, but the Water/Electric combination works well. Get one with Volt Absorb, Surf, Discharge/Thunderbolt/Thunder, Signal Beam, and Ice Beam, and it'll become a powerhouse.

I'd take Jolteon over Ampharos any day. I've had the same Jolteon with me since Leaf Green and I have two things to say:

    1) Dat speed. :3

    2) NOBODY expects double kick. It's shit, but you can always surprise people with it.

    Superior.

EDIT: Just beat the Elite four. Metagross/Feraligatr/Charizard/Weavile/Leafeon/Toxicroak.

Focus sash Weavile trolled Lance's Dragonites.

Hall of Fame team at victory two days ago:
    Arcanine LV 47
    Gyarados LV 41
    Jirachi LV 41
    Giratina LV 48
    Meganium LV 44
    Golem LV 46.

Golem absorbed Dragonrush, Arcanine used Dragon Pulse to great advantage. No ice or lightning. Three hits, probably two with better stats, to take out each Dragonite. Ultimately the toughest of the league but Lance falls far short of the challenge he was supposed to have been.

Now, the Kanto Gym Leaders... those are some serious hard-asses.

I am astounded by the inability of some people to read stickies.
