So Nintendo Direct has just released their plans for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

These feature an alternate storyline to the originals and include Pokémon that didn't appear in the base games.

Oh and they're for the 3DS.

I am frothing with rage right now and my dick has been ripped off at the stem.

 

Why rage? Cause the Switch rumors were false?


Oh, and Gold/Silver are coming to virtual console like Red/Blue/Yellow did.

 

Yeah, I'm probably giving them a pass.

 

I might actually pass on these myself. The 3DS could barely handle SuMo and now they're just bringing out two more games with minor differences which still struggle even though they could have ported to switch and had everything run much more cleanly.

Does the Switch have Estore? I'd be down for playing RBY and GS on it.

 

Apparently the site said at first there'd be a Switch version too, just TBA. Now that's been removed.

So there's still room for those, I guess.

 

Pokémon Gen 8 in 2018 with DP remakes in 2019 confirmed for Gameboy Advance SPXXXL.

 

Site saying that it was Switch as well was an error.


As unfortunate as it is that they're not being released on the Switch, I'm still going to get 'em. I am worried about processing power, though. They're really pushing it.

 

I'm just glad the games aren't switch only yet... dreading that shift.

 

By the time they do appear on the Switch (only), which seems to be late 2018 at the earliest, the Switch will definitely be at the very least $50 cheaper if that's your worry.

Personally honestly can't wait here, just so we can have less frame issues in battles and smoother overworld.

 

Has anyone seen the new trailers for Ultra Sun and Moon?

That looks an awful lot like Surge's gym. Even the windows are portholes.

 

Battle Frontier Battle Tree Battle Ship confirmed.

 

Misty and Brock are confirmed to be returning for a period in the Sun and Moon anime series.

They're showing Kanto way too much love to not be doing something Kanto related in USUM.

I don't think Lapras has the required agility I'm afraid.

My issue is, once again the disconnect between Game Freak and who they think their fans are. Yeah, Mantine surf looks fucking amazing and a great way to travel between islands.

On the other hand they seem to be proud of and plugging an upgrade to the failed experiment that was trying to include Pokémon Snap. People would kill for another Pokémon Snap but the Alolan version and it's upgrade are a long way behind the original which is kind of sad.

Who doesn't remember that Gyarados bursting out of a waterfall all because you pissed off a mankey upstream?

 

Don't evoke Snap. I'll get emotional...

 

They do seem incredibly proud of that photo club. I remember reading a Gamefreak interview, at Gameinformer I think, where they were talking a lot about it.
The thing that 'concerns' me the most is the trial battles. It was a cool change of pace, refreshing and delivered some awesome moments like Wishiwashi school form looming over you and the Lurantis sneaking from behind like you see in the trailer, but that's where my concern comes from. I feel like it will loose that impact it had now that we've seen the trials in sun/moon and it makes me a bit sad I guess. I hope they'll make all the trials different instead of only giving Mina a new one or trials with different types.

Also strange that it seems like we won't get our own rivals but Lily and Hau return for an encore. Would've liked a Black/White2 kind of situation where you have your own friends/rivals but get to see Lily and Hau's story continue on on the fringes of your story like what happpened with Bianca in bw2.

That said, Mantine surfing looks like fun, it's about time Mantine got some love.

 

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon comes out in about two weeks and I'm interested to see how it's received. I'm hype for Team Rainbow Rocket though. All the baddies r back baybay. Flying through Ultra Space looks fun too, and I like that every legendary will be catchable. We'll also get to use some of the totem-sized Pokemon
