The Legendary based on the sun isn't a fire or grass-type. What the heck? Steel's fine, but Psychic? Really?

Otherwise, no complaints. Choosing your base trainer model raises my hopes for the existence of clothing stores.

 

There can never be enough trumpets. (Although, if Nintendo's sound division wants to add more awesome riffs like the one in the vs. Aqua/Magma Leader theme, I would not be complaining. At all.)

 

Is it bad that you can guess fairly accurately the route the game will take? Starting off on the lower right island, going up the eastern coast and to the harbour where you go to middle right island.

Straight to the Volcano gym there and side quests to the Northwest part of the island before getting the ferry/possibly surfing to the middle left island.

Side quest brings you back to starting island but the eastern coast this time before going to far left island for the Pokemon League.

Pokemon League island has a big ass tree which clearly has something to do with a legendary Pokemon. Station in the middle is possibly a battle frontier/evil team hideout.

 

Seratin: you don't think there's going to be a fifth island rising up in the centre of the map?

 

I worry about the Rotom. I worry it will be annoying as fuck.

I mean, it probably won't be. It'll probably be fine. But there's a chance it goes down that "Annoying sidekick follows you around and gives you advice" route. D:

The legendaries are pretty nifty. Don't think the typing really matters all that much in the long run, it never really tends to influence the game much when you're at that point anyway.

 

That's a distinct possibility. Damn the mysterious evil team and their land reclamation policies.

 

I'd like a break from evil teams and groups to be honest. I'd rather see the story focus entirely on your journey with your friends and Pokemon, and your struggle to become a more powerful trainer. Probably my favourite* Pokemon fanfic was one that just followed a small group of normal, not particularly amazing trainers on their journey.

I'll second that the sun legendary's typing is weird as fuck though.

*Excepting Game of Champions, of course.

 

I would absolutely be down for that. As I started reading I thought I wouldn't like a game like that, but after Flare I'm SO done with teams.

4 vs. 4 battling is now a thing. Each of the four trainers send out one to battle the other three, and can have up to two more Pokemon in reserve.
