The whole point of Pokemon is to form a connection with the little turds and bring them with you on every adventure, right? Otherwise they're just bits of code to be used and discarded.

That means you're Team Rocket, losers.

    ...

I'd bite your hand off for a new Pokemon the introduced nothing but completely overhauled the way the game plays. Another standard Pokemon game with no new mons though? Feels like both 'crowds' lose.

So more Pokemon were introduced, spoilers in case people don't want to know yet.

We got Rolycoaly the rock type based off the concept of fuck fire types, we got Duraludon which is probably discount Dialga, and we got Alcremi which looks to be future rule 34 swirlix

They also introduced Gigantomax, which is a sort of double-Dynamax for specific Pokemon. You have to catch raid bosses, though; they're the only ones who get to G-Max.

All of these are confirmations from the leak.

The version-specific gyms and the dead gym leader are interesting, but I'm probably giving this game a pass due to the obvious signs of cash-in from Game Freak.

Debating passing as well. This game easily could've been for the 3DS. Plus, I would need to buy a Switch

Duraludon and Drednaw are badass, I can't lie, but I agree. This looks like it was halfway developed for the 3DS already then half ass ported over. Also can we stop introducing cool mechanics then shitting them out? Bring back mega-evolution goddamn it

Hopefully the next one will fully be developed on Switch.

I'm going to buy them because God knows that Gamefreak has me by the balls and can probably convince me to buy anything that they say is a main Pokemon game. I agree with what everyone here is saying, but I am a weak man.

I for one do not blame a multinational corporation for trying to maximise profits or expect them to act in any other way. I will continue to buy literally anything they churn out because I enjoy the games.

I’ll probably do exactly the same thing I’ve done since gen 3 came out: Only use Pokémon from gen 1 and 2 unless they’re dragons, because I’m a stubborn cunt.

I will also happily throw money at it.

Every new gen I tend to pick a few pokemon before my first play through that I really want to use. Corviknight and Dreadnaw are definitely going on my team. Though Rolycoaly and its laughably strong resistance to the most common type in the game is really tempting.

New official trailer, featuring Galarian Forms, including this bad boy:

Also a raccoon (?) Zigzagoon, which also has a new evolution ("Obstagoon") where it stands up straight. And the new Pikaclone, who's a gerbil that has multiple Forms. Two new rivals (one of them with Team Yell following her around).

...I love that Weezing. It suits the region so well. Fucking weird, but somehow so good.

The new male rival is perfectly punchable, while I'd like to just ignore that team. Hooligans? I'd rather go without.

Nobody informed me that when I woke up this morning Weezing would become the best Pokemon of all time. And Team Yell are just Battle Hooligans?

Holy shit. I thought it was a fake parody Weezing. This is the best thing ever. Congrats Gamefreak, you actually beat Alolan Exeggutor, you mad bastards.

Okay, say what you want about new Pokémon, yada, but this Weezing is amazing and I love it. Straight out of Dickensian London.

    ... Oliver Twist x Pokémon?

So some more details on battling showed up today. Weezing get's the ability Nuetralizing Gas which nopes all other abilities. Corviknight has the hidden ability mirror armor, which seems to be a stat based synchronize. Max moves always have some kind of after effect, whether it's a team based stat boost or setting up a weather effect. Also there's some new items for item based fuckery.
