We need more weather checks. The only way to realistically counter weather is to have it yourself (and it's a good idea to bring dugtrio or gothielle to help trap their weather user). It's marginalizing.

Poison pokemon that make contact with the ground dispel toxic spikes on switch in. Gengar does not, because levitate, Crobat does not, because of fly, et cetera

One last little weather detail is Hail makes Blizzard auto-hit. I don't know if it gives 100% accuracy to all ice moves or just it, though. It doesn't.

Forget the numerous fighting types added last gen, Scizor alone will wreck the poor thing in one hit.

I mean, I hope it's a good pokemon, it looks nice, but you'll be lucky if it doesn't sit in NU forever. The best thing you can say about it is it would be a nice pokemon to have in a hail or sandstorm team and that it'll have Freeze Dry, which makes it so at least Water pokemon can't wall it too easily. Its ability will probably decide if it's really usable though - I'd definitely use it over Abomasnow if it had Snow Warning.

 

I wasn't intending to use it in competitive, just in-game. It's too adorable. <_<

I don't see the overdesigned argument - not yet. I mean, the new Garchomp is overdesigned / dumb looking as far as I'm concerned, but the new new pokemon look great so far, save for the ocasional stupid one.

 

I took it as a perfect dig against those who think gen I and II are the alpha and omega.

Probably double fire for me. They've always felt like the 'weakest' starter to me, at least at the outset. So, I prefer them because they force me to utilize other pokemon.
