First I would like to apologize to WordHammer for insulting his post, as it has been pointed out to me that I found the wrong story. Secondly I would like to point out that this is my first post, don't be an idiot and expect someone to know how to use something they have never been told how to use before or even tried to use before. I would use the quote feature correctly if I knew how to but unfortunately I don't know how to use the quote function of this site or any other site yet. Thirdly I would like to point out that I did hit the point of this thread when I said that I would use a humor oneshot if they were new to fanfiction and a decent crossover with their “home” fandom if they were already reading fanfiction. Fourth I would like to explain my comment about lurking this site for a few years. I found this site a few years ago after reading mention of it on an Author’s profile page at ff.net, however I only recently made a profile on this website because I saw no reason not to. Finally read your quote it says something along the lines of we will help you if you have grammar troubles and to put out your best effort.
Good bye I hope I don’t ever get flamed again for something two other people mentioned if you had read the post you would know that, now does that make you a hypocrite or an idiot. Again I would like to say sorry to WordHammer.

Thank you. I wrote the last response on Microsoft Word and then copy and pasted it into the reply box, however it must have screwed up when I copied it into the reply box.

Why do so many people do that? Modern browsers have spell-check support built-in, and formatting from Word to WYSIWYG editors ends up being complete fail...I don't see the point of opening a (sluggish, slow, resource hog) program to write something then copypasta it to your browser.

    /soapbox

TL;DR: LEARN YOUR BROWSERS FAGGOTS. If your current one cannot spell-check for you, get a new one.

If I'm writing a long post I might use a word processor rather than the browser window, simply out of fear that the browser will randomly crash on me.

    Fucking this!

I don't do it often, but I've been burned too many times while writing a long post.

Except I usually compose it in the browser and just paste it into Open Office so I can save it at regular intervals, rather than actually writing it there.

There's an extension for Firefox that saves all the long posts that you make in case the browser crashes or you accidentally hit back, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called.

I've never had a browser crash on me while I was writing anything into it...Even Firefox - the king of crashes.

Don't flatter yourself; a thread on DLP hasn't come of age until it's gone off the rails at least once. And you say you've lurked here...

Back on topic. I wouldn't break anyone's HP Fanfiction cherry by just giving them a story.

No, I would link them the DLP 5 star C2.

That, or something by Kinsfire or muggledad just to fuck with them.
