True, but a lot of times it's when you don't have any ideas that reading someone else's bunny/challenge can inspire you.

I guess it's more I'd rather see someone take an idea and do it poorly and uninterestingly than keep the idea to myself for a year or two before eventually accepting the fact that I'll never get around to writing it.

As for challenges/ideas the first ones I thought of were my own Lovegood, Boobs Gooder was based off a Harry/Luna May of last year challenge. A respectable enough response if I do say so myself. And I believe the next month's Potters Place challenge involved Harry/Gabrielle which sprung both jon3776's "The Art of Healing" and Jeconais's "Hope". Two fics I greatly enjoy. Kinsfire wrote his Unnamed Story (which I think finally got a name) in response to a PinkHairGreenEyes challenge if I recall correctly.

It's just sort of contributing to the collective idea pool, or keeping them for yourself. If it's something you really want to write, of course keep it to yourself. But for me, I'll keep no more than two fic ideas to myself. If I get a better one, I'll dump out one of them in hopes someone else writes it.

Of course that could be because I don't like writing. And even though I don't trust a good idea in the hands of many people, it saves me the trouble of writing it. If they do it *that* bad, then I'd write my own proper answer to it.

 

Okay...I read it. It was really good. Very promising. What the hell happened?

 

I honestly have difficulty remembering this story.

I hate to say this, but I'm not even angry with IP anymore. At one point I was frustrated. This story is officially Abandoned to me. I don't even want to bother him anymore with this.

If he wants to update, he will, but at this point the best solution, I think, is to let this story sink down the Independent list, until it hits page 2.

If IP82 wasn't a poster here, I doubt it would have stayed near the surface this long considering how long its been since the story was technically "updated."

At this point, I consider this story, Abandoned!

While I can understand your point of view this sotry is, from my perspective not abandoend. An abandoned story means a story where the author is not working on it, and has thrown the idea away. From the latest we got from IP82 He still is trying to finish the lst couple of scenes at the end of chapter seven. So its still WIP, or at least on hold, rather than Abandoned. Some authors.

And While I agree that we should stop Bugging IP82, because its just rude,, I am looking forward to this chapter when he finishes it, whether this is in a week, a month or something else.

Edit: I dont want to spam with useless stuff but as soon as I saw nonjon's avatar it just got me thinking of this movie. And everytime I see his avatar I keep thinking about this movie. Is something wrong with me or what?

Anyways, about the idea pool. Its good and all but I dont have many ideas. So I dont share mine. I only have 3 or 4 of em and they arent the best either so...

IP's fic is a classic, but its taking to long to update so:

Potter's Resistance is NOT abandoned.

If it'll make you feel easier, you can label it "on hiatus", until I get time to seriously sit down for several hours and force myself through last few thousands words. After that, I'll probably start several more stories, so I don't get stuck like this again.

To the readers who are waiting for the update and those who'd given up - I appologize for being so slow, but there's nothing I can do about it right now.

 

It is fine, just work at your own pace. I love this story and if you force yourself to write when you can't then it will seem rushed.

 

Don't worry about it. I wasn't demanding a new chapter, sorry if it sounded like that. I was just wondering what was going on. I know what it's like to not update for ages as I do that too. Take your time (I sure as hell take my sweet time)

 

I can wait, in the mean time I'll read all the other great stories from people around this site and hell your story is one of the few long ass ones I dont mind re-reading.

I was re-reading Ip's story and I think that the best part about this fic is all the new ideas. Like the anarcia book (strange!), the drumstick duel, and the best part of all: the escape from Dursleys. The unique ideas in this story is what makes it better than the other fan fic stories. It is in my top ten list of fan fics. Right at number 2.

 

Whats number 1? Ip's is also one of my favorites's and I can't wait for an update.
