I'm not certain yet about that whole dark/light thing.

Same as with evil/good, actually. It IS kinda ridiculous to expect of a bird to figure out what is evil to humans and what is not.

Is it evil that mother snake leave it's young to fend for themselves?
Or is it evil for female bug to eat male after mating?
Or for a herd to chase off weak to their death?
Or for a new alfa wolf to kill the old one?

Evil & good are just term to determine a degree of individual's devotion and self-sacrifice to the larger group and nothing else.

Good&evil are terms best left to politicians & church to manipulate people over with them. There is no place for these terms, however, when trying to build serious fiction characters. Simple "going dark" is just poor characterisation.

Exactly what you just said. I know it's minor, but still, I'm Master Slytherin, I've got to have at least ONE negative point in every review. Also, I feel it helps the author (in the long run) more than "great job".

I must reiterate how good a fic this really is.

My thought exactly. When reviewing, I always try to point out at least some flaw. "UPDATE PLZ!!!!!!" is simply unhelpful.

Yeah, but depending on the author and in large enough quantities, it could be an incentive to do just that...for better or for worse.

Who said phoenixes can't be dark? My assumption was always that they were first loyal by default, and it was up to the author to decide whether that loyalty allows one of these birds to maintain the bond with a 'dark' wizard or that the bird would dissolve the bond when a wizard went dark.

According to JKR, they are "One of the most Light creatures on Earth" along with Unicorns.

Not that what JKR says should influence you much. :D

After a week and half, I finally started writing it again (sickness + lack of motivation/laziness + been out of home for several days).

I'm actually writing it right now, but I'm having some problems with this one. Yet again rewriting that damn interview/manipulation scene...

Ehm, update will probably not be so soon, too many things planned for this chapter and too few written, with the thing that ARE written being too long & liable to rewrite... yeah, it sucks.

Something just ran through my mind.....You're not going to have Harry tell Dumbledore that he knows all about his manipulations, are you? Because that would be foolish in his part...

Of course not. There's nothing I hate more than when Harry gloats his knowledge/new powers in front of Dumbledore. Makes for a nice scene, what with Dumbledore being surprised and all, but it's stupid and contraproductive in the long run.

It will be good though when he finds out down the line. I can just imagine the look on the old cunts face.

    Yeah that would be sweet.

So there will be no Harry ruining the element of surprise, his opponent being underestimating his ability, and revealing EVERYTHING he knows thereby shooting himself in the foot?

Those moments are best reserved for evil villains up against James Bond. Or maybe Flint.

You can still get those scenes and moments when you're being open, honest, and trusting with an ally. Never for the sake of gloating to someone you fooled. Although you can setup that ally to report certain parts and watch happily under an invisibility cloak then.

Anything clever willfully revealed is usually not true and hides what you really know by making it seem like you know far more or far less.

    Will Harry get laid?

Not fall in love. Just meet some Muggle girl at a bar and fuck her? Honestly, its one of the first things I would do if I were him.

BETTER YET!!! MAKE HIM PRACTICE LEGILIMENCY ON HER!! He'll read her mind and finesse her into the sack!! It'll BE PERFECT!!!

:likes the idea of easy sex: :Begins to curse parents for both being muggles:

Not right now. I'm building a Harry who is completely dedicated to improving himself & surviving the war. Seeking some hooker/romantic relationship is the last thing on his mind right now.

But if I ever do something like this, it'll probably be casual relationship (no love/soulmate bullshit). I probably won't do a hooker, but picking up a girl in a nightclub sounds about right for the third part.

Probably the second part of the 6th year (each part = 3 months or so). I could change it, though. All depends what subplots end up in the final outline for book 2.
