Well, I bought the book and read it. Excellent stuff as expected of Jim.

A few very interesting but EXTREME spoilers (read at your own risk):

1. Aquitaine Attis doesn't want the Crown. He just doesn't want Gaius Sextus.
2. First Lord Gaius Sextus commits suicide.
3. He doesn't actually. He annihilated half the Vord invaders while destroying everything including himself in a fifty mile radius of Alexa Imperia.
4. Octavian meets a woman after Gaius died.
5. His grandfather, when he lived, called that woman Alera.
6. Actually it turns out that the woman isn't a woman at all seeing that she appeared suddenly on a ship in the middle of the ocean without being detected and wears a gown made of the mist and fog.
7. Her eyes also change color every moment or so ... and she is unaffected by the elements. Perhaps she is a Great Fury bound to the house of Gaius? Then again we haven't seen furies communicate, have we ...
