Found a new strategy card game thru reddit (dev had a fp ama). Its like taking the macro aspects of Starcraft and combining it with MTG/Dominion. You build an economy and have a randomized board of units each game. I've spent an embarrassing amount of time playing it recently!

Theres a kickstarter up for it right now as well. Less than a week to go.

I'm pretty hooked on this game now. It took a while before I could beat the Master Bot, and I only just started PvP today. 3-1 so not too bad.

I'm only really playing base+5 now though. Tried the +8 and grandmaster against bots and it seems to get exponentially more complex. Saving that for later.

I'm looking for people to add as friends. Anyone can add me (account name: lightning), or post your name here, and if you don't mind, I'll add you.

This looks interesting, but how does it mitigate first turn advantage?

 

Player 2 starts with an extra drone.

Turn 2 actually has a lot of advantages depending on the set of random units you get.
P2 has access to a natural ddc on turn 2. (Drone drone conduit) which is pretty damn useful since you don't have to cut drone production and allows you access to green tech. Green is the 'safe' resource to get, since green crystals are bankable unlike blue/red tech.

The game's really fun, mostly because of the random units each game which makes endless possibilities similar to Dominion.

However, it seems to me that strategies are very sharp in which ones are strictly better based on each unit composition. This might be a bit hasty judgement as I've only really played it for a day and a half.

Are there any strategy primers/discussions anywhere?

 

Would love a key, looks addicting.

 

Kickstarter has $800 CAD to go with 38 hours left. Pretty much as good as funded.

Apparently anyone who wants an alpha key can get you by liking and sharing a facebook post. Not sure how you redeem that though.

 

It's a good game. I enjoy it much more than I did Hearthstone because it's not about building the uber deck, it's about using what's in front of you and planning for the long game.

Also I may start streaming a Let's Fail on this, since I suck at it and think people would get a laugh out of my noobishness.
