There's having a sense of humor and understanding when one of your statements could become a PR nightmare. Devs work in PR. The minute they fail to understand when their statements could become a nightmare is when they're no longer doing their job to the level necessary. He didn't lose his job just for making light of entire states, he lost it because he failed to understand that simple PR fact.

The guy earned his firing, no matter how many devs said what a nice guy he is. Easy to be a nice guy to your coworkers when you're all dealing with angry consumers constantly. Not always easy to be nice to the often-overly angry consumers. But he signed up for it.

PS4's the way to go, if a console interests you currently. Neither interests me. Not because their games aren't amazing. They're just not the style I love enough to excuse a purchase. I don't think I'd find enough value in either console any more. In fact I find more value in portable gaming now. Graphics just don't make a game for me and if a game on console is popular/well-rated enough, it receives a port to PC, where I will buy it late but still enjoy it just as much.

The voice/motion control was very cool, but nothing shown today really blew my mind enough to alter purchasing intent. The graphics on the exclusives look particularly lackluster compared to some of the trailers shown at the PS4 reveal.
