    With the ps3 it is free to play online, ps+ is an extra service that gives you a bunch of bonuses. The best of which is the instant game collection.

    It sounds like as of PS4, PS+ will be required for online multiplayer as well.

    Also, is it just me, or are they having a bunch of hardware difficulties?

    They SORT OF implied that PS+ was required for multiplayer... I'm not exactly sure what that was about. They had that on the list of things that PS+ gave you, and then afterwards Trenton didn't mention anything about multiplayer when he talked about the media shit being free.

    A little worried, but not too worried, I don't think that Sony would make you pay for multiplayer after all this time.

    And holy shit did they just KO Microsoft and teabag them.

    Frankly, even if they DID restrict multiplayer to PS+ I wouldn't be concerned. PS+ is an insane deal.

    I took the "non-plus users will still be able to play singleplayer" statement, along with access to online multiplayer being in the plus features as "plus is required for online play." Solomon is right though - great deal.

    Also, $399. Holy shit. Sony definitely won this one.

    They just said "holiday season." So MS will most likely beat them to market, but I honestly see zero reason to by the Xbone unless you can't live without its exclusives. $100 more, privacy issues, used game issues, and (it sounds like) fewer exclusives overall.

    PS+ is still a much better deal than Xbox Gold... but still. Free online multiplayer was a staple of the PSN since conception. Why would they change that?

    Still 60 bucks a year. I don't like paying for fucking multiplayer. :|
