    I could have sworn SLI meant one graphics card rendered one half of the screen while the other rendered the other half of the screen and then the primary GPU uses a very small amount of it's power to stitch the two together rather than rendering alternate frames.

    Frankly in terms of getting best use of graphical memory they should be using Split Frame Rendering not Alternate Frame Rendering.

    Actually, they've fixed the 840 as well with a firmware update. Some are saying that a similar problem, though not as major, is creeping back up, but I've not had any problems with mine since I installed the update.
