The Perfect Jutsu's author needs to brush up on his canon, the fact that some bandits who can use chakra survived Sasuke's fireball is ridiculous.

Personally I'm rather more annoyed by the bandits having western names than anything else.

Hell, if the theoretical incest bothers you, it doesn't even have to be romantic. I just think that Naruto interacting with Kushina in her younger years has potential.

Plus, I hear that Naruto/Kushina isn't as rare as I thought it was.

This fic is a decent time waster. the pairing is Naruto Mikoto, but Kushina looks to Naruto as an older brother.
I'm afraid it's the only one I've read with Naruto/Kushina interaction that isn't PWP smut.

 

Naruto/Kushina is about as rare as Harry/Lily and, just like it's counterpart, mostly found in shitty smut. Unsurprisingly, both pairings almost always go hand in with the bashing of the father.

Even non-romantic stories featuring Naruto/Kushina tend to suffer thanks to the overused mama bear trope. She's almost always overbearing to the point where it's annoying and sometimes even creepy. The only fics that I've read that do the relationship justice are Ricochet and Fearful Symmetry. They also happen to be awesome/

 

Eh. I don't care if they're smutfics as long as they don't suck. For example, as long as Minato isn't unnecessarily bashed.

There are thousands of reasons for a couple to not get together that don't bash either of the two.

 

I agree, but the authors of these fics don't seem to think so. Minato is almost always a douchebag with a micro-penis. Most of these smut fics are straight up wish fulfillment garbage that read like their written by a someone's who only sexual experience was watching porn. For example, Naruto almost always has a penis that's at least 9" and sex involves Naruto using his stamina and his gargantuan penis to wreck some chicks vagina.

Honestly, the only fics I've ever read involving a tasteful(?) Oedipus complex were written by Vash, Big D, and Tehan, and none of them have ever (to my knowledge) written a Naruto fic.

I found this in my favourites list. Seems to be a timetravel fic. Not sure about the quality, though.

 

Hokage Kakashi is a funny little piece.
It definitely goes to extremes with some things (for example the council), but I enjoyed it regardless.

 

So can anyone give chapter numbers for Dreaming of Sunshine where the filler material begins and ends? I remember enjoying the fic right up until the snow princess story which I believe is filler.

I am thinking of giving it another try and just skipping anything written that was based on filler.

 

47-56 and 64-87. There is overlap at the tails ends with canon events, but that covers the filler for the most part. The second batch has a lot of character development, soyou may notwant to skip it all.

 

To be honest I think that fic lost it's quality after chapter 30. The OC hasn't really even used any of her future knowledge. Whats the point at this point. I read this fic only to stave off boredom at this point.
On the other hand 'now for the second act' by WDW is pretty good Obito, Yondaime and Rin all are reborn in the past and are trying to stop the future that they have left behind.

An interesting AU Naruto fic. As the description suggests, bijuus do not really exist - except as rather powerful demons - and Konoha is not a village of ninjas, but a village of demon hunters. As it turns out, Naruto has some demonic aspects, but he does not have the Kyuubi sealed inside him.

Naruto does have some special features, but he doesn't have a ton of chakra like canon Naruto does, and the main fic ends up dividing focus between Naruto, Minato, and Kushina in the latter half of the fic. Follows Naruto as a young genin through the Waves Arc onward.

I liked it quite a bit because of the relationship between Minato, Kushina, and Naruto, as well as the backstory and world the author develops, especially in relation to Uzushiogakure. Also, this fic is thankfully completed.

Some of you might nope out because of the whole werewolf angle, but I thought it was done fairly well. My main point of concern largely has to do with Fugaku Uchiha's characterization - it doesn't become overt bashing, but he's not a very sympathetic character in this fic.

 

I gave up on it a while ago; her collection of ideas in Reincarnation Roulette is a joy to read though.

Basically a Neji character study. I thought it was pretty well done. Nice, relatively quick read and complete as well. Not exactly sure when this takes place within canon, but I imagine it must be some time between pre- and post-timeskip, given that Tsunade is Hokage, but Naruto is nowhere to be seen. Principally focuses on Neji, with some Hinata interaction as well.

 

Just finished this one, and I agree that it was a very nice character study. Style felt similar to Kraken's Ghost, and I'm actually off to reread all of his as I'm craving introspective character studies now. If anyone knows any more, I'd appreciate a link.
