I'd never read Tuebor before you just mentioned it, Inert, and dear god was I missing out! That story...no words can aptly describe how frustrated I am that there's no more! I'm almost inspired to go write my own Mokuton!Naruto fic.

Quick question, are there any good Bloodline!Naruto fics that aren't Rinnegan or Sharingan focused? Or better yet, any really good Naruto AU's outside of Menace's fics, Houses of the Holy, and Tuebor?

 

I second this, but I'd be okay with Sharingan included as long as it doesn't start with the whole 'Die demon!' chase scene garbage. :fire

The biggest problem with bloodline Naruto fics is that they're just the same story but with a bloodline given to Naruto, which isn't a particularly engaging plot. The important stuff is everything around that. I think the best way to do Sharingan Naruto for instance would be to not have him born with the bloodline at all and start the divergence later. Specifically, have Naruto fatally wound Sasuke at the end of part 1 and Sasuke being Sasuke makes him promise to take his eyes and kill Itachi. You could handwave the issues with transplants with Jinchuuriki stuff. Or better yet, play with the chakra ghost stuff bullshitted later and have Sasuke actually stuck with Naruto as a literal ghost possessing him that allows him to use the Sharingan to full effectiveness, but which Naruto is convinced is just a grief induced hallucination no matter what Sasuke says.

Then you have an Itachi that actually is after Naruto and wants to kill him rather than a double agent, so Naruto actually needs the abilities, especially if we were talking full dark and killed Jiraiya off somehow fairly early. Plus I don't think Sakura would take the whole situation very well. Basically turn the entire dynamic of the story post valley of the end on it's head.

You could even still have more lighthearted stuff though with Naruto and Sasuke traveling around bantering Reload style, because one's a very bored ghost who has to find increasingly ridiculous ways to annoy Naruto to entertain himself. It even allows some particularly crazy weird shit if we got to the late game stuff with Asura, Indra and Madara.

To be honest that was mostly one big stream of consciousness I'd never even really thought of before, so I'd actually be not even at the beginning planning stages. The more I think about it though the more I actually like it, so I think I'll at least try. Wouldn't be against anyone else who likes it grabbing it though.

I could see it being good if played for laughs and done as a light and funny fic. As a serious fic it's got a million and a half alarm bells ringing

Or, you can actually have it where since the stuff with Asura and Indra all falling on Naruto, he indirectly becomes a reincarnation of the Sage.

But, like Republic said, depending on how you write it, it could become a shitty fic.

On another note, any well done Danzo!Hokage stories?

Not some Konoha > All and then some kind of fic, but a realistic portrayal of an aggressive Konoha. Hell, I'd even take a well done Orochimaru!Hokage story.

I remember reading a Naruto fic last year, one of the better Videogame fics I've come across, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it

I believe it used the Fallout system, at the very least Perks were involved, like many others i starts out with Naruto having to choose an avatar with many being locked (the Kyuubi being one)

A few things were unique to this story, for one this Naruto is already experienced with the game system, and through several Game Overs has become more cynical and ruthless as well as with a distanced attitude towards the people around him since nothing is permanent etc., one thing that is revealed at some point is that the Kyuubi is actually another player, an insane achievement since the avatar requirement is to defeat a manifested Kyuubi.

In the start of the fic he chose the Uchiha avatar, and started power leveling with the Sharingan, and became a genin at a younger age, 8-10 or something, flirted inappropriately with an older female team member and she becomes attracted to him to her own disgust and confusion his personality is after all not that of a child, but his body is a child's, culminating in a kiss. soon after they died, I think it was during the Konoha invasion or something similar, she died in front of him leaving Naruto distraught. He decided not to use the Uchiha avatar again since the requirements to unlocking the Sharingan, makes it impossible for him to keep his mental distance, I think the Kyuubi chided him a bit.

I remember afterwards on the next play-through some of the story took place in The Land of Water, in the middle of the Mist rebellion, Naruto had spent most of his perks on gaining control of Kyuubi's chakra enough to manage 3-4 tails without losing control kicking some serious ass and teamed up with the rebels a bit.

Sarutobi interceded at some point and with his staff that could elongate to a crazy length (hundreds of meters) he smacked around the Three Tails, showing why he is called the God of Shinobi, he manifested his killing intent at some point and even the indirect exposure almost giving Naruto a heart attack and making him pass out.

Naruto promptly decided to take the killing intent immunity perk, something he had previously thought fairly useless.

I don't think the story progressed much further from there, if anyone recognize it, thanks in advance.

 

I'm pretty sure the Sanbi part is from The Save Button is Your Friend, which is indeed pretty dead. Last update was in September.

Dunno about the first part with the Sharingan, though.

I'm actually reading my first ever gamer Naruto story right now, I dont think I remember this thread having a list of the better ones, could you guys out some up from what you've read?

Aside from that, any of you know if this geor-sama dude is dead? I just spent like a week and a half reading altered history and shinobi wars only for an and it end that hasn't been updated since 2012.

In a side note, I haven't waded to ffn since 2009 for stories but what's with the neglect fics everywhere? For some reason the teenagers in this fandom hate the shit out of Naruto and just turn him into Sasuke 2.0. Shits aggrevating.

 

There is actually no slash in all of the 12 chapters already up. At least as far as I can remember. If it was mentioned it was obviously easily skipped.
