    I'm looking for a story in which obliviation is commonplace, and everyone is in fear of getting or having been obliviated by their friends.

    Canon. If anyone other than Gilderoy Lockheart thought it through.

    I do recall a story featured around obliviation, and the consequences/fears therein, from a muggle perspective. It was put up for review some time back, but I cannot for the life of me recall it's title.
