Yes. I know how MMR works. I also noted in my post that I thought there was likely a reasonable explanation for it. My entire point, with that post, was to point out how I hate the way this stupid system is set up. I don't even feel motivated to play knowing that I have to play 4-1 just to advance even a little bit.

 

Thing is though, if you probably have to go 4-1 only one or two more times before it will completely normalize. May I ask what your Win/Loss ratio is? Usually, if you want to climb in league/divisions, you have to keep a minimum of a 60% win ratio. (Anything above 50 works too, just significantly slower).

 

It's shitty right now, like <50%. About four months ago I hit 30 and jumped into ranked like an idiot. Placed into S5, but then tanked my elo pretty quickly. Only been playing to keep from decaying since then, up until about a week ago. I've improved a lot since then and have been stomping most of my games, but it hasn't normalized yet, sadly.

I honestly just came to this thread to vent. I realize why this is happening; it just irritates me that it is since the system obfuscates any actual progress so much. Hopefully in another few days I'll be able to normalize my mmr. Thanks for the info nonetheless guys, I'll shoot for that 60%.

 

I dislike when you win 20 games in a row without hitting a series. 15lp per game turns into 2lp very quickly.

 

There was a Riot post on the fourms a few months back that said at very low and very high levels the team with a Duo is more likely to win, but in between those skill levels the duo loses more often.

 

Nope, season 4 will start closer to Christmas at a guess with all the changes they want to bring in - plus it needs to to give the LCS teams time to practise with the new patch as the LCS kicks off again sometime in January if memory serves.

I'd say early to mid December will be a good guess if we're lucky.

I'm on a losing streak too. It really sucks, but the last game I went Kayle mid and did well. Ended 9/3 after 2 silly deaths.

 

Hit the 1 day warning on my 'play or be demoted' warning, must be sometime around 6pm BST looking at things.

Been wanting to queue up all day, EUW has had no chat server since lunch so you can't communicate. At all. Till you get in game - yep.

Gave up trying after they took Ranked down earlier, so, tomorrow or bust to try and hit Gold III by the look of things, though going off my last week in ARAM's, and general sloppiness, think I might be saying hi to Gold V again.

 

Then I went:

Win->Win->Promo->Lose->Win->Win and i'm back in gold 3. MMR works and shit, totally.

 

Played a quick game this morning, blind picked Sona against Corki/Ahri/Kennen without a clue who I'd face support wise.

Picked Thresh, figued I was fucked. Thank god for the most passive duo I've ever met. You're Corki/Thresh vs Sona/Cait, why would you let us passively farm? Oh well.

Our Aatrox and Lee rocked their Kennen/Shen combo (Shen jungler still exists, wow) and Ryze destroyed Ahri in lane so it was a 20 minute FF, didn't check the final score line.

Either way, +28 LP puts me back up to 89 in Gold IV, think I might just leave it there till the end of the season, maybe play a game or 2 before it all ends but I'm happy with that, assuming I don't fuck up my placements come S4.

 

Just hanging out in Bronze 3......haha

 

5 game win streak to get out of gold 5 and straight into gold 3.
