Your W/L in placements doesn't mean a whole lot, because your rating gains (or losses) all depend on the rating of the people you beat (or get beat by).

If you go 5/5 against silver players, yeah, you'll probably be silver. Go 10/0 against bronze players, you'll also end up silver. But go 3/7 against plats and you'll probably end up high gold.

 

Err, if you go 9/9 in your placements there is no way you'll still be playing against silvers or bornzes. I don't think it's possible to get higher than low gold from your placements though. Unless you are carrying a high mmr over from the last season.

 

Except, that every single w/l also affects your MMR, and thus the level of players you play against. Someone that is 5/0 in the promos will definitely be playing against higher ranked people than someone 0/5 (assuming their beginning MMR was the same).

 

So. Hit level 30 today and played ranked for the first time.

First Game! (Co-Star Xiph0)

Nobody has any agreement over who/what to ban and I'm confused as knobs >.> After a couple of minutes of flailing I end up adcing as Lucian with a Morg support. Things looked grim. Morg… was monstrous, landed almost all of her snares and we dominate bot. Xiph's late game with Veigar was lulzy, he was literally killing the adc (Ashe) in one hit. The roaming starts and the other team makes a comeish back, but we end up winning.

Second Game (Xiph still hadn't learned his lesson)
I get lucky and get to play Top (Shyvannaaaaa) against a Nasus. Push his shit in early and with some assist by Voli jungle we ruin his farm. Bot had issues with a gold Sivir on the enemy team, but they held out. Full tank Shyv with a Randuin laughed at Sivir, and Voli's engage was good enough. Split push + Baron and we end up winning.

Looking forward to more tomorrow.

 

I finally finished my provisionals! Really sad though. I was 6-1, but ended up duo queueing for the last three games and finished at 6-4. Placed into Plat 4.

 

I'm on a 4 loss Streak, cbf'd to remember the details. It's… really killing my happiness to lose games even when I win lane.

 

Had 2 great games in a row to qualify for promo. I think I was playing jungle both times. just crushed people. Both the lanes I didn't gank won on their own, and the ones I did gank were the ones that were going to struggle so it all worked out. My first promo game though? TERRIBLE.

I'm playing Rumble top vs Shyvanna. Except the enemy Sej has it out for my, and my jungle Elise seems to think she can farm to win. My mid apparently roams bot a lot, and bot apparently wins, but by the 5th gank with no help I'm really demoralized. Even warding doesn't help very much, since their gapclosing is huge and I can't make any damage stick on this shyvanna.

Did I mention that my team did not take ANY objectives? It was 30 mins when the Cait, who says she won lane, takes the bot tower. They never got any dragons to my knowledge.

Also made me late for work. Fuck league some times.

 

Turned lv 30 a few days ago and I'm taking my placements right now.
So far I went top Nasus twice, I won both times against a cho gath and a teemo who just let me farm all game with minimum haras. At one point in the first game cho gath amd their Jung tried to tower dive me, I just used my ult and walked in a circle til they died. Was fun.

Then I went top with xin against a tryndamere who really didn't know how to play him. It was so easy to goad him into using just ultra early, then back off an kill him later. We won the game easily. So I was 3 and 0 and feeling good, then the trolls came.

Ended up as xin jungle and despite trying my best at ganks we lost all three lanes. Our adc was being a bit of an ass and killing himself when not needed. Game sucked and we lost. No teamwork in sight.

Next game we also lost. Partly my fault cause I can home from my birthday party and decided to play a game drunk. Tryndamere jungle and I wasn't making too many mistakes as far as I could tell. Out adc (teemo) though was outright trolling. 4 mins in he have up bottom as a last cause and went top for the rest of the game. Morgana tried to hold not and I true to help when I could but their lee sin Jung out played me there. We lost badly, I was sad.

Woke up today and decided to try again, no one was playing sup and I was last so I did. I haven't played sup in over a year and a half (I took a year long break during senior year of HS, picked it back up again in college). The only sup characters I had were fiddle and malzahar but then I remembered my good old Allstar days back in bot games at lv 1. Was with a graves who did work. Game ended up going til 55 mins but we won a series of team fights and took inhib. After that it was just a matter of time and teamwork. Ended up at 3-13-42, most assists I've ever had. Supp is fun, will have to get more champs for it.
Anyway as placements stad, I'm at 4-2, 4 more to go, aiming for mid silver!

 

I'm playing ranked 5's with my friends and we beat a team that had a Diamond 1 guy on it.

 

Toxic people are seen in every single bracket, last ranked game I was in the enemy jungler received no leash from his bot lane so he decided to troll the game and went bot to fuck his bot lane cs and feed. The game ended in 10 min, they just said:"go all mid and finish it" (this happened in diamond btw).

 

Continuing the placements:
Two more games, two more wins. This time I was adc for the first game. I went cait to counter their vayne. It was a slow start, and my morgana sup kept lagging. But we got the win to OP leblanc. Cait had a poor showing but our warwick and LB were doing work so whatev.

Second game, I went jungle Xin, and I worked them so hard. We invaded their red to throw off their yi, our velkoz got a kill on their leona when she tried to 1v1 me. Went on to get a few double kills and their yi just did nothing all game lol.

At the end, we were at their nexus, yi come back alive agaisnt 3 of us, tries to kill us and died with all of us alive and me at 10 hp. It was funny, then a minion gets me lol. But still, 6-2 now. 9th game is starting with another different yi jungle for them, I'm xin again. But they have a jax so it'll be interesting how it goes.

EDIT: Our top Ryze fed their Jax so hard, 5 deaths in like 10-15 mins. Their Yi got some good ganks, and those two just manhandled our entire team. It was sad. 6-3 now. Time for the last one.
