I think of Bulstrode, and I think of Harry being taken for a ride by a bull... not exactly a pleasing image if I do say so myself.

 

Agreed. Bullstrode is described as reminding Harry of Holidays with Hags. Nothing you do with that makes me want to read a story featuring her. Pansy...yeh I can look past her "hard" and "pug-nosed" face if it isn't really brought up and if I picture the chick from the films. But Millicent is just plain ugly - end of story.


When I read a story, I want to be able to empathize with the main character. I'm sure when reading Harry/Daphne/Fleur/Patil twins, the thought process of nearly every reader is 'Nice'. No one wants to read about Harry banging the ugly fat girl or the Hufflepuff whats-her-face with the acne. More importantly, no one wants to write about it either.

 

More than enough, my friend, more than enough. I can only hope that those pairings continue to make themselves scarce.

 

My favorite pairing is Harry/Narcissa and there is HUGE lack of GOOD stories that ship it.

You'd think there would be more good Harry/Cho fics out there. She was one of the few who had a shot at him. Agree about Harry and the chasers (including Demezla).

There's a growing number of Harry/Susan (including mine) but not many Harry/Hannah. She did somewhat stick up for him during CoS when Ernie was accusing him.

I've seen only one or two Harry/Marrietta Edgecombe stories. Not too many Harry/Lavender either.

As for Harry/misc name ship (Lisa, Mandy, Sally-Ann, Megan Jones, Tracy Davis) Davis has some potential as a halfblood in Slytherin. She's showed up in a few harem fics.

And yet I'd rather read one good Harry/Bulstrode fic than five shitty Harry/Tonks or Harry/Bellatrix. And the sad thing is, I love those pairings. We are simply inundated every day with bad, bad, really bad fics.

If the usual dross that's submitted to FFN is what we can expect... bring on the H/Eloise, H/Bulstrode and even H/Petunia. I guess no matter what the pairing is, people (you know which ones) need to start writing better stories.

 

Over at FFA, Jeconais has a Harry/Lavender story in the works, I think.

For other rare pairings, the RestrictedSection.org has a few, though you have to wade through slash, H/G, and H/Hr (and oddly enough, more than a couple R/G) fics.

 

I was speaking specifically of the Ron/Millicent fic - it's not even Harry-centric, I would presume - and the Harry/Petunia one just... mind-blowing. That's the incest pairing that I actually would rather not read.

Most likely Ron/Ginny. I have been to restrictedsection.org and have seen quite a few Ron/Ginny fics. Truly horrifying.

 

Eh, I can't hold it against Ron, I suppose. When he can't strike up a relationship with a respectable girl, he falls back on his sister.

I remember choking when Harry found out that Ron was molesting Ginny in Shezza's War of the Dark. Possibly one of the greatest moments in fanfiction.

 

Yeah, Ron/Ginny is apparently popular among certain groups. I guess it's like the retard version of Harry/Lilly for the low-born. I've also seen Bill/Ginny and Fred/George/Ginny. The most brain-killing one I've ever seen was this story over at adultfanfiction.net that had Ginny at age 10 being trained as the "family whore," an official family position where she basically has sex with every Weasley, up to and including Percy. Speaking of whom, I also saw a Fred/George/Percy fic once where it turns out that Percy is a dick because Fred and George abuse and rape him behind closed doors.

And people wonder why these sites don't get much press.

I wouldn't mind reading a good Harry/Merope Gaunt fic. Any links for something like that around the fandom? I am imagining Harry being with the googly eyed Merope...amazing imagery there!

Well, it seems that I was wrong. It wasn't Harry/Marge, but rather Dudley/Marge. It was equally disturbing and damaging to my eyes though.

God people, when I asked for rare pairings, I meant rare pairings that YOU and other DLPers would want to see in a fic. This is not a "WTF Fics Version 2.0" thread.

Can we please cut out all these Harry/Marge, Dudley/Marge or Harry/Umbridge shit and focus instead on finding stuff like a nice Harry/Lavender?

This is not "that" rare nowadays, but I always found it a funny and enjoyable read.
