Shit load of Crazy

 

My religion teacher routinely blames Satan on problems in his life, and any negative thoughts he has.

This guy is by no means unique, or any crazier than a very significant number of christians.

 

Eh, nothing new. I attended what can charitably be described as a neo-conservative activist Catholic middle and high school that had textbooks that demonized both role-playing games and heavy metal, to the point of citing such viable 'sources' as Mazes and Monsters and Patricia Pulling.

Suffice to say, I have no guilt whatsoever about my response to the discovery of this material, which included the removal of all text via black paint and and a trash bin, and for the introduction of such timeless classics such as The Anarchist's Handbook and The Satanic Verses into my high school library.

 

Worst movie. Ever.

Never pick up movies out of the Walmart 2$ bin.

How the hell do these nutjobs keep getting airtime and books out? It completely confuses me, but that may be because I'm a (questionably) sane and rational person. But that's besides the point. Twilight may be the work of evil, but Harry Potter is not.

 

Actually, Twilight is the work of a Mormon propaganda machine. Harry Potter is evil only in how Rowling abused adverbs.

I have to agree with this. It's making all the stupid younger female fangirls (who also have a brain the size of a peanut, and are as stupid as a pencil, but then I'd be insulting the pencil, seeing that the pencil is far more useful), more...stupid, I guess is the right word.

 

"Renowned" exorcist? The only exorcist worth any renown in my eyes would be one that says "No, that's not a possession, your kid's just stupid and you are lousy parents" every single time.

 

HP is littered with references to Christianity and the importance of family and 'love' as well the villain drawing parallels with a 1940's Germany. If these things are what makes HP open the gates to evil, sharing similar beliefs most do the same. I assume this guy doesnt sympathise with Hitler and indeed takes value from the resurrection story and various other christian teachings litter in the book, does that make him evil

When I was in college, I was sitting with a few friends and someone mentioned the Harry Potter books. I turned to one of the other members of the group, who I knew to be a little... what's the word? Oh, right: Born-Again. I asked if she'd ever read them. Her answer: "It's against my principles."

At the time, I did not ask, "So, you don't like the idea of people finding love, friends, and family, good triumphing over evil, and children building self-esteem and good, healthy, relationships?"

Instead, I just decided she and I were not going to be friends much longer.

 

Seriously?

I'm fucked up in a lot of ways, but if there's one thing that I do not believe, it's that Harry Potter is evil or a gateway to fucking Satan. :facepalm

And people wonder why I think that the genepool is fucked?
