I feel bad for your if your enjoyment is ruined by such a triviality.

It doesn't totally ruin my enjoyment. Most of the time I can overlook it. But a lot of times I can't because the author overuses them to an extreme. It just really annoys me. Am I the only one that has ever realized this? It ruins consistency. I can't take the author and his story seriously a lot of the time when they have Ron and other purebloods use expressions that are illogical and which they have no business saying. I'm not really a nitpicker, but when I see this it immediately bumps the story down a level or two.

Hmm that pain in Harry's head, is it the soul fragment of Voldemort? His pain recedes when he thinks about Hermione and Ron. Is it the power of love? I'm most curious about the the pain in his side. Is it a higher power or is it due to magic? Or, is it when baby Voldemort kicks in Merope's tummy, Harry feels it too? Mpreg Harry so that googly eyed Merope can survive...hopefully not.

An interesting read so far but I'm not sure if it's something that can be categorized as excellent. Props go to the originality.

A very interesting update. Very interesting....

I hope the next one doesn't take as long though.

Interesting, yes. A bit bland, though....

Doesn't Merope have one eye on her cheek and the other up on her forehead? I got the impression that she looked like Sloth from the goonies when JKR described her.

Anyway, decent update. A little confused at some parts though.

Muggleborns make up 25% of the wizarding population. With this in mind, it's fair to think that Purebloods will end up picking up Muggle slang, as Muggleborns will bring it into the wizarding world with them.

How do you know they don't believe in God? They do after all celebrate Christian holidays and the 'next great adventure' most mean more than 'from the hospital to the cemetery'.

Edit: forgot to talk about the story. :p
Good writing and original, but I need to see where the plot is heading. So far it's very introductory.

Thus far, it's very well written, but the plot has only just begun. I'm going to wait for another update before rating this.

I clicked the link fully expecting to be dissapointed. I wasn't. The Dumbledore/Grindlewald interaction was brilliant, The post battle hogwarts scenes were good, and it's got a host of new characters, all of whom have me very interested. Harry/Merope ftw. 5/5

Couple of minor things I dislike in this fic which add up to something that sits uneasy with me.

The idea of magic and fate being sentient and magic choosing 'Dark Lords' and 'Light Lords' is awful.

It's okay. Worth my time reading and reviewing, but nothing special.

No, I agreed with your rant actually. It pisses me off when a pureblood goes "Oh, my God," for whatever reason. "By, Circe," or "Dear, Merlin," is far more accurate.

As to this story: (spoilers for DH if anyone cares)

The pairing is certainly unusual and I don’t believe I’ve seen it done before. The story as it begins is a little, clouded; I think is the best word I can think of to describe it, then again they are in the “after life”, so I suppose that’s to be expected.

Given the approvals in the thread I might have had a little too high a hope for this one when I started reading, but I’m not nearly as enchanted by this as others seem to be. I like the interaction between Harry and Dumbledore, the characters come of well, though I could give less than a shit about Ron and Hermione. The writing is dull, tedious and boring. Not quite sludge worthy, but a dry sort of meh.

Harry has moved back in time, so naturally, I’ve been looking forward to reading about that. Instead however, I get some spiel about Dumbledore and Grindlewald. Those two got together when they were 18 somewhere and then never spoke again after Albus’s sister died a few months later. At the time of Tom Riddle’s birth Dumbledore was 45-ish and by then Grindlewald had probably already begun to build Nurmengard.

The premise of “light lords” and ”dark lords” are as archaic and overused to this fanon as staves are. It makes me roll my eyes and scroll, wondering to myself when Harry is going to show up again.

It’s quite clear from the writing style that this author is a slasher with heavy angst fever. I can already see down the line how this story is going to turn more and more pseudo dark, with “angst undertones” that are really right in front of your face. Add to that, the shifting points of view, the author’s constant attempts to give of a gloomy atmosphere, the angst present in Harry’s every second thought; and you have a nice little recipe for a wangst fest. I couldn’t give less of a shit.

1.2/5 this story might have been interesting if it wasn’t for the pseudo slash fest waiting behind the corner. If you’re thinking about reading it, I suggest slapping yourself and if it hurts, go right ahead.

Sorry for the minor necro, but I clicked the link intending to go read this one and either the link is not working or the story got pulled. Does anyone have an alternate source?
    Thanks.
