Kolskit got it again. All of you were going in the right direction, but Kolskit once again dominated the riddle. Answer's a bad explanation, lie, whatever doesn't get you any make-up sex, all that rubbish.

    Heres a tricky easy one:

A 16-year-old boy was driving a moped down a one-way street in the wrong direction.
A policeman stopped him and gave him a ticket.
The policeman paid the ticket himself.
What is a logical explanation for this?

EDIT: Sorry HBP, didn't see your post.

The sixteen-year-old is the policeman's son?
Or does the moped belong to the policeman?

The policeman was the boy's father.

    EDIT: Damn you Lorelei!

Well this might sound a bit stupid...but bear with me here.

Going down the opposite end of a one way street can only lead to bad things...the police man ran him over and killed the boy.

Wrote a ticket, and then paid it himself as a last gesture towards the boy's memory.

Or go with what Lorelei said and it was his son.

Right again. The fuzz was the kids dad, but I like thisperson's idea better though.

This one has been out for years and people still argue on it:

You walk up to a mountain that has two paths. One leads to the other side of the mountain, and the other will get you lost forever. Two twins know the path that leads to the other side. You can ask them only one question. Except! One lies and one tells the truth, and you don't know which is which.
    So, What do you ask?

I think, though I haven't really thought it through, you ask them what the other twin would say.

The one who is lying would say the wrong path because the one saying the truth would say the right path.

And the one who tells the truth would say the wrong path because he knows the other one will lie and say the wrong path.

So therefore they should both say the same path and you travel on the other one.

You would ask them what the other twin would say if you asked which path was the right one to take.

The liar wouldn't tell you the direction his brother would lead you in as all he can do is lie so he would tell you to go towards the right, which is hypothetically the wrong way.

Even so, some people, who can't understand that a riddle was meant to be pretty straight-forward and they never said the liar was sneaky so it shouldn't be part of your calculations, would argue that the liar would be smart enough to understand what you were trying to do and tell you the 'truth', even though he's a liar. Idiots.

The one who tells the truth would be honest that his brother was a liar so he would also tell you to go to the right, thus leading you to the conclusion that the right side is the lost path and the left will lead you over the mountain.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.

    Heres an easy one:

Romeo and Juliet are found dead on the floor in a bedroom. When they were discovered, there were pieces of glass and some water on the floor. The only furniture in the room is a shelf and a bed. The house in is a remote location, away from everything except for the nearby railway track.
What caused the death of Romeo and Juliet?

How did I gimp on the explanation?

I'm guessing that Romeo and Juliet are fish from the glass and water on the floor. Their fish tank sat on top of the shelf and fell off when the train went by on the tracks.

Forward I am heavy, backwards I am not.
    What am I?

I happen to know this one so the hard task of thinking it through is thrown ot the window.

    The answer is a Ton.

Read forward it is heavy, but if you read it backwwards it spells 'Not'.

    Quite clever.

It's one a college of mine told me during lunch yesterday. This ones a bit more original:

    Many things can create one,
It can be of any shape or size,
It is created for various reasons, and it can shrink or grow with time.
    What is it?

A problem? That was the first thing to come to me.
    Many things create problems.
A problem can be big or small.
A problem can be solved, or become worse.

I think a group would also work, because many people create one, it can be any shape or size, and is created for various reasons.

Can be driven although it doesn't have wheels. Can be sliced, yet it stays whole. What am I?

The only thing I can think of is a human, because driven can mean determined. I'm probably way off, though.

Yeah, you are completely cold, but keep thinking about it. When you finally figure it out, you'll be pissed at yourself for not knowing it ... then again, doesn't that happen with all riddles?

I'm thinking something to do with sports, like a driving shot with a football(soccer ball) and a slice in the same way.

EDIT: Now I think about it a golf ball seems to fit it more accurately because the term is actually a drive whereas in Soccer it is just a way of saying it was a powerful shot.
