Its a good answer except for the first sentence, there are plenty of single people, especially women, who want to be married.

    Paen, is the answer "happiness"?

If you're not happy -- you generally don't want to be.
If you are happy -- you try to stay happy.

My only concern is the last line. I suppose you can't win happiness.

Nope. If they are not happy most people want to be happy and you are right about not being able to win happiness.

    Five hundredth post!

I still say that it is a battle to the death. If you're not fighting for your life, you generally don't want to. If you are, you sure as hell don't want to loose. And if you win, you don't have the battle to the death anymore. Fits all three rules.

But then again, the constitution gives me a right to free speech, but I still can't yell profanities at little children.

You can't have a battle to the death, you would be in one.

A lawsuit? If you don't have one then it's natural not to want one cause it's only a hassle. Those who have a lawsuit, obviously don't want to lose it. And of course, those who win a lawsuit no longer have it. It fits perfectly I guess.

    I was once whole.
    I was once solid.
Now I count down the seconds,
    'Till my descent has ceased.

    What am I?

Tsk, 'guess that was too easy.

    A worm?

Don't give me a weird look. I know my answer is weird enough.

Rest assured that I am not sending you weird looks. A "worm" is the correct answer.

I must have exhausted myself on that "nutshell" one. I don't seem to be anywhere near the same perplexity of that one. :(

Here is one I just made up

    You turn and I am.
    You go and I am.
You stay and I still am.
    What am I?

    Shouldn't be too hard.
