I'm looking for fics that either redeem Ron or have him be a better person/character.

Cause, you know, I'm pretty fucking tired of seeing him portrayed as being worse than Satan himself or more useless than....well, you get the point.

jbern's Number Games has an adult Ron who grew up. It's a For the Love of the Game fusion.

I just read this. I'm fairly certain that while slightly amusing, this is nothing what I was looking for. Still, chuckled a little.

 

Within These Walls probably the best Ron centric fic there is. The story is amazing. Journeyman Potter has a Ron who is a pretty cool sidekick to Harry. Harry in that fic is brilliant.

OK, I just ended in this thread by accident - so I hope that posting story fitting request is a good enough reason to resurrect it after two months.

It is nice for once to see Ron good at things other than Quidditch and Malfoy in mindless rage, taunted by Ron.

 

Another story worth mention in the context of this thread is Choices by randomfruitcake04:

One wonders why the author feels he/she must advertise the posting of the latest chapter in the limited real estate of a story description, but whatever. It's a "Seer!Ron sorted into Slytherin," Ron-centric retelling of the books. The author makes a bit too much of his brusqueness, making him more rude than canon, though he comes off as sympathetic. The story would be "almost recommended" by DLP standards.
