I know, I know, it is a Jeconais fic, bear with me.

I thought this fic was a halfway decent oneshot. While this fic didn’t make me laugh aloud, what I enjoyed most was the interaction between the characters. The idea of Hermione waking up with a sinking feeling specifically attributed to Harry Potter is one that tickled me. Having the others recognize the look on her face and make preparations was good too. The bit between Ron and Harry and the “Stupid” was also well done and original, and there's a good bit of Ginny bashing for those of you with a vendetta.

Of course, the worst part about this fic is the ending. Jeconais went all Jeconais on it and Jeconais’ed it up. I’ve wracked my brain for a proper adjective to describe it, but I cannot come up with anything other than this:

The ending sucks.

After much personal debate I’ve decided to award this fic 4/5. Yes, the final quarter was pure tripe, but Harry DID clunk Draco with a baseball bat.

I'd like Jeconais fics more if he wasn't always so hell bent on making Ron a better character than he actually is. No chess intelligence does not equate to real life intelligence...

Jeconais does better when he spurns the common ships and goes for something uncommon...his object lessons trilogy with Harry/Padme is right there with his Harry/Daphne series for my favorites of his work.

Read this when it was first posted. Got a few amusing chuckles, but thats about it. Short enough for it not to be a waste of time, but nothing special.

Although I may be being bias, for I just read the latest chapter of A Black Comedy.

 

His Harry/Padma work is the stuff of legend. The only thing wrong with it was the Ron/Luna.

 

I giggled.
That was a nice way to start the day.

It's in the "I couldn't be arsed to continue these" section, so you won't have to. 4/5 as a one-shot.

 

Quite enjoyed it, wouldn't make a good story longer story but Jeconais realized that. Just something original that is what makes me such a Jeconais fanyboy. 4/5

 

Meh, I'm a bit too put off by the "everything is fucking perfect"-atmosphere. But it's not bad ... I don't know. 3/5.
