Salmerto Swift, a raging kleptomaniac, was put in the sentenced to 30 years in Azkaban while Kali was in school for stealing numerous ancient artifacts that still haven't been found. Sara 'Little boots' Swift refused to have more than one child and was repeatedly incarcerated for violently protesting for creature's rights; she harbors many war criminals in her attic. Kali spent 5 years there and was accepted into Hogwarts. She is a rabid technomancer and wishes to take over the world by using someone else to be a figurehead while she does everything else. While not magically powerful, everything she owns is encrusted with power enhancing runes to make her seem more powerful. She has been garnering allies across the school and uses her enemies for her convoluted 'experiments'.

Kali wandered into the library for a bit of information on CPU's, passing a Ravenclaw who was engrossed in something. Wandering up and down the shelf entitled "Muggle engineering" she sighed. "Never any book newer than copyright 1950."
Turning around she slamed into a Ravenclaw girl who was wandering through the rows. "Sorry!" the girl said and picked up her books concerning the human mind that were splayed everywhere.

 

Sylvie was suprised when she bumped into another student in the usually empty Muggle Science section. Muttering a quick apology, she bent down to collect her armload of books, wondering what a Slytherin would be doing there.
Curious as usual, Sylive asked, "Looking for anything? It's just that I know this part of the library rather well..." Blushing, she trailed off and looked at the floor.

 

"I was just looking for something on muggle com...com...the intranet," Kali feigned ignorance. "I have to write a muggle studies essay on it." she shrugged and made sure the girl had all of her books. She turned to leave but was interuppted by the girl she bumped into. "You need something?"

Finsihed with his essay, Patrick decided to be social for once figuring that the Gryf and Slyth needing his overwhelming charm. "Hi, I'm Patrick, Watcha guys doing? need any help?" He gave a little smile to the girl, then noticed the guy, Divino something-or-other.

 

Jasmine looked up. "I'm Jasmine," she said smiling. "I was just working on my potions essay. I'm just about done with it, I just need to think of a few more things to write."

 

"Ah Potions my favourite class...to skip. I was in that class for until O.W.L.'s then i dropped it, but i can help if you need ideas, i know a lot about it even if i never liked it. I'm pretty much perfect." I grinned snobbishly to emphasize my point, i loved acting concieting for a cheap laugh or two.

 

"Oh, potions never was my favorite class either. I prefer charms. I don't know if I'll drop it after this year though. It depends on what I plan on doing when I leave here."

 

"i dont think i'll be in any sort of work that'll involve potions, so i got rid of it, but there are many jobs that want a potions N.E.W.T., it all really depends what you want to do after Hogwarts, I'll probably go to university, study transifguration, and squander the family fortune. You have anything in mind?"

 

"Well, I was thinking of becoming a healer. If I don't do that I don't know what else I'll do. I might go into the ministry, I'd really like to get rid of those werewolf laws."

 

"The Ancient and Noble work of the Healer? there is always work for you in that areana, Now ministry work is entirely different, not a place for the weak willed that place, it turns nice people into uninteresting bureaucrats, or power hungry meglomaniacs. I just want to live out my immaturity then think about work."

 

Jasmine looked at him oddly and blinked. "I..well...I mean I knew there were power hungry people in the ministry but I-I never thought about it like that."

 

"Ah don't worry about it, i'm a little biased, i dont like the government much, and i'm a little melodramatic at times. I'm sure there are good people in the Ministry, i just find the ministry obnoxious and an affront to magic."

 

"Oh, ok," said Jasmine biting her bottom lip nervously. She really had never thought the ministry was that bad. They must do a good job of hiding things. Or maybe she just never paid much attention to the government and politics before.

 

"Sorry about bursting your bubble and making you uncomfortable. any way i'd better go i have to see a man about a dog." I turned to leave after making my excuse.
