"No!...I mean..don't go yet..because, because.." Jasmine really couldn't think of any good reason, she just didn't want Patrick to leave yet.

 

Jasmine turned to Divino after her little out burst. "Well, I guess I never really paid attention to the government and politics. Maybe I should start, because I certainly don't want to end up like that."

 

"Oh its easy not to be like that. You just need to know thats what will happen if you don't keep yourself in check and don't wear your heart on your sleeve. It is a fine line that one must walk to prevent either being betrayed or becoming a betrayer." said Divino

 

To Divino "Yea i know, i think the worst part is the ultimate gall they have in thinking they can censure or control magic, its ridiculous."

to Jasmine he smiled a little, after he was sure she wanted him around still, he said "alright i can stay for awhile, i just didnt want to make you feel uncomfortable."

 

Jasmine nodded. "I guess you're right. I really should start paying attention to things like that. But like I said, I don't know if I'm going into the ministry or not. I'll worry about that later."

 

Jasmine smiled. "Don't worry about it, I just never paid attention to these things and my parents just never really bothered to tell me about them, even though my father visits the ministry quite often."

 

John coughed as the students spoke, taking a moment to bend over and lift one of the muggle science books off of the floor. After a glance, he sneered in a most Snape like way.

"While I do consider it a step in the right direction for young magic users to be interested in the sciences, I must tell you now that while the Hogwarts libiary may be quite useful for the study of magic, you will be hard pressed to find a scientific tome that was published later than..."

He look in the book he held.

"1907..."

 

"That my friend is the schoolboard trying not to offend most of the purebloods who send their children here, apperently they don't want the childrens young minds "contaminated" by "muggle nonsense". I swear they seem like they don't want to learn anything new unless they have to.

 

"So, what are you up to after your homework? I havent got anything to do but hang around the common room today, and kinda want to do something else for a change."

 

Jasmine sighed. "I wish people weren't like that. I mean, I'm a pureblood but I don't think I'm better than others. I just don't see how people could treat others like that just because of who their parents or grandparents or who ever were. It's just plain wrong."

 

I'm a pureblood, and proud of it, and i dont think that has to include oppresion of others who arn't, some people just get too involved in the new blood, old blood thing, i've never held to that nonsence.

 

"I don't really have anything planned for when I'm finished up here. I certainly don't feel like going back to the Gryffindor common room. They like to play tricks on others too much."

 

Sylvie shrugged. "I thought I was the only one who thought that way. Sometimes, having nonmagic parents seems like a disease I have. Either that, or I'm from another planet entirely. I mean, there is even a class to study people like my mum and dad!" She said with a bitter laugh. "It's fascinating sometimes, but so odd!"

 

"Do you know how to fly? i've been dying to go outside and get some fresh air, and the teams usually have the field, but i think its free today."

 

" I agree. There can't have been purebloods since the begining of time. There fore Purebloods must have come from muggles. Notice how purebloods can't tell their whole history. Divino remarked.

 

"Oh, well, I can try. I really wanted to try out for the team this year but I'm kind of scared of heights."

 

"Then that means we are the next evolution of humanity. Eventually the whole world will be Wizard, just like how homo sapiens are the majority, after the neantrethals died out."

 

"I can teach you? or maybe you can ride shotgun if you want? I've always loved being up in the air. I cant imagine being afraid of it. But then again i've been flying since i was very little."

 

"Sure. I know how to fly. But when I was 12 I saw one of my cousins fall off his broom. I was so scared, he fall at least 100 feet from in the air. Lucky my father was out there. I haven't been on a broom since then."

 

"Wow, sounds like a close call, i'd probably be afraid too. Can't blame you for not wanting to fly, though the risk is part of the attraction for me. We dont have to if you really dont want to, dont do it on my account if your really afraid"
