I don't know if it was smart, but it was a bitch move. Being a beta and an author, that's something I'd put in a private message to the author, not in a post that two hundred people will read before the author is even aware he's short of a beta. Cheap way to get rid of him.

I'll eventually read and review when I get back home. In the meantime, enough on the author/beta subject, back to the fic itself pleasethankyouverymuch.

I've tried reading this story, but somehow I find myself unable to complete it. There is no hook in the fic to keep me engrossed in it. Considering it's a story geared towards the subject of runes, I found that the author didn't fully utilise its capacity. A bit more innovation with runes would've been nice.

I wouldn't rate the story since I haven't read it in its entirety.

 

Tigerman's characterization for Harry is so obnoxiously retarded near the point of giving me a headache, that it was hard to continue reading. The entire Fred/George scene was ridiculous. I did read it through to the end, but I've found myself turning to the lulz halfway through some parts. Now, I'm reading good parts for their mediocre quality and bad parts for a good laugh.

That seems to be the case with a lot of fanfics these days....

2.5/5, as I couldn't justify a 3 star to myself. His writing is just too melodramatic. Not even mentioning the uber!Harry for no justifiable reason -fuck Quadrant Cases. And horrendously over-used tropes.

Same opinion regarding the story. The writing is almost borderline acceptable - if you really, really want to like it, you probably will, as seems to have happened with Ellisande and the others.

 

This fic had promise at the start, however, as it passed the 9th chapter, it has just progressively gotten more and more retarded. There is now no pull to read it at all. Its a pity ,because when it first started out, it wasn't all that bad.

 

The story's complete. I think I initially gave it a 3/5. I think it's more of a 2/5. Disappointing, really. I thought it had some promise initially.

 

He kills Voldemort by sticking a golden gardening tool through his head. Oh yeah, thats a spoiler, sorry.

This is another generic smart asshole Harry fic where he behaves incredible OOC, ditches Ron as a friend simply because the author does not like him, adds new friends who are OOC as well, is annoyingly self-righteous, arrogant and self absorbed and can do no wrong. That coupled with the fact that his natural genius with Runes suddenly make him smarter in all aspects of life is rather boring.

I don't know if that changes since I only got to finish chapter 7 before I gave up.

I read this story, and while I agree that it definitely showed some promise at first, the ending was awful. I mean, 'a light version of a horcrux'? Really? And the fact that Bellatrix managed to AK Harry while he was eating a slushie, in the middle of Diagon Alley, was... disappointing. He's just defeated Voldemort a few days ago, and his guard is completely down, allowing him to be AK'ed without even defending himself. While the idea for this story was an interesting one, but the execution left a lot to be desired.

2/5. It's one of those stories that you really only want to read once, when you have nothing better to read.

 

The story seems a bit rushed but the concept behind a mastering of runes is interesting. I think you could enjoy it even if it is just the once especially since its completed.
