I have only read Cobalt's claim, and I believe it. I also think Kai and miner are pie's likely partners. We're doing this.

 

I do think we should still wait to see what pie has to say about all this, even if it's probably just lies. They might be revealing lies!

Like, Cobalt's behaviour is highly suboptimal regardless of his alignment. So I guess the answer to your question is "Cobalt derped". (Or "Cobalt was in the process of pulling a gambit and so tamped down the reaction", which is a subset of the above)

I think he honestly thought the first claim would cemented his position (and tbf without vaimes's catch it probably would have) and he unintentionally derped with numbers without realizing it and he's been trying to make it all make sense ever since.

I dunno. I feel like his position WAS already cemented, and even if not he was allegedly doing that fakeclaim as a reaction test. In this case, the question switches from "why fakeclaim N0 setup oracle" to "why claim Tracker afterwards rather than just gambitting VT?"
