    Shh.

I'm considering killing him instead of you.

Plus him getting angry instead of acknowledging that he's been shifty this game towards all of the flipped scum and explaining his actions is a Thing.

Here, Reg, I'll condense your posts into Vaimes Speak and we can talk things out.

    Gimme a minute.

    I'm going to bed too.

Anyways, I'd like everyone to just consider Reg's interactions with Cobalt yesterday and pie the day before and tell me that Reg/Cobalt isn't a thing.

    1) This one reason is kind of all over the place. Basically, "the way Miner handled Stanari/Jarizok isn't town." A lot of these things are pretty subjective and I can't say I see it the same way.

    2) Your stances and reads on all three flipped mafia in general have been questionable. You townread Cobalt for bad reasons, if I'm remembering correctly pie pointed out you did the same with Waco and Zenzao.

    3) I don't really have a problem with how Miner wanted to kill Jarizok over Waco, since. Jarizok was his main scumread. It's not like you definitively said I should shoot Waco, you always said "Waco or Q" and could have been banking on me misfiring.

    4) This point is ??? because both alignments wanted Zenzao to shut up. Town wanted it because what he did is bad for game health, scum wanted it because they don't want Zenzao TMI-vomiting all over the thread. So Miner saying Zenzao should have been allowed to keep talking is...not really scum-motivated.

The other two points are eh. Mostly because, if I had to judge which player was scum trying to hard-mode damage control, it'd be you by a mile over Miner.

I'm reading SPECIFIC posts you made, because I think you're a very good scum player and on the merits I'll read you as town. If I'm being completely honest, I think you're getting annoyed because you KNOW this and you're irritated I'm not taking all your very well written good townie posts to mean you're town.

I know how this style of scumplay works because it's MINE: I can post good town content that just so happens to advance scum agendas in a deniable way. Like making a giant, well-reasoned case on someone I know is town but town!dC wouldn't know is town. Or changing my mind about which of two players is scum juuuuuust as consensus starts to tip, so it can look like I was on the right side of history. Or chasing pet reads instead of the players which turned out to be scum so I can look like I'm following up Very Important Things and hey town had the lynch covered so it's all good right?

That plus the fact that your town style of "scrupulously analyze and reason everything through thoroughly" makes no goddamn sense with your decision to up and abandon your pie read within 20 posts makes me rather unhappy at this juncture. The worst part is that I KNOW you have very good, very towny reasons for why you did all these things if this is a scum facade and so I'm not sure how to re-evaluate this read if it IS wrong.

(Actually the worst thing is probably that I'm also describing my townplay here. So absent the weird Cobalt turnaround I don't know that I'd have even cottoned on to any of this)

    Also Miner is either:
    - Bussing
    - Trying to get town!Reg lynched to save his ass
    - Trying to get scum!Reg lynched as a townie

Either way, I think minimum 1 of Miner/Reg is scum. I...kinda want to lynch Miner first anyway just because a townflip would really seal the deal on Reg and I still think Miner is probably scum, so that'd alert us to the situation ahead of time.

EBWOP: On the other hand, I just posted in my QT that I'm ashamed of myself for my reads this game and Miner better be scum or it'll be even worse. So I should maybe defer on the Miner point, since that generates emotional investment :/

Maybe you know actually reading my posts and opening up the links to see what I'm talking about might be a good idea? Your comment re; Scum not having day talk proved you'd not read my initial post today. You're just going "oh post of his that isn't a vote, lets not read that", "oh another post", "oh he wanted to vote when he posted his case HMMM SUSPICIOUS" and I'm not going to bother when you do shit like that.

This is an accurate description of Reg's interactions with the entire team:

    1. Hard defended Cobalt immediately based around "meta"
    2. Soft defended Waco immediately based on his entrance (which was transparently bad) and his Plot read (which at the time was literally just "hey Plot, are you scum? I think you may be scum". Remember?)
    3. Snuck Zenzao into his lock-town list D1 despite Zen having not done anything
    4. Spends the rest of D1/D2 hedging on Waco, stalling out a read on Waco until D2 where he only bothers to push Waco by way of agreeing with other people's scum reads on him (INCLUDING mine), but never forms a substantive read himself.
    5. Spends D2 pre-Waco flip putting as much effort into linking me-Waco as pushing Waco himself (i.e. hardly any).
    6. Spends D2 pre-Zen flip linking Jari-Zen.
    7. Spends D3 insisting Zen/Cobalt weren't aligned based on interactions, and doing nothing but pushing me-Jari S/S (both town). But oh wait, I might just be scum TMI'ing about Jari for after Jari flips town.
    8. Spends D4 hedging about me/Cobalt and not taking a stance either way. But oh wait, right at the end when Cobalt is going to be lynched pretty much for sure, Miner suddenly a lock for Cobalt's partner.

This is an accurate description of Reg's interactions with me:

    1. Spends D2+ pushing this "pie emotionally manipulative" narrative on me, despite it being transparently false to the point where the rest of you can look at my meta and clearly see it without having any experience with me. Reg isn't such an awful player to where he gets so caught up to where he makes such transparently false arguments based on nothing but conviction.
    2. Spends D2+ trying to trap me in a catch-22 where he can make up a reason to push me no matter what I do or don't do (if I get invested I don't ~resonate~ with him, if I don't I'm not invested).
    3. Spends the entire game trying to invent reasons it makes sense for me to weakly bus all of my partners, but doesn't have any sort of underlying thought process to link it together or think about what my ~plan~ this game actually is. This reads more like scum trying to invent reasons to preemptively dismantle the town cred I'd receive for having correct reads (which my reads actually have been, btw. It is too bad I was never able to get up to speed enough to really do anything about any of them).

And since D2, Reg really hasn't had all that much content because he's been spending the entire game just doing nothing but pushing me. D3 was pretty much nothing, he just tried to lynch Jari/me and actively tried to stop discussion over it. D4 was maybe OK - this is the one thing making me seriously question the read here - and EOD4/now his push on Miner is very one-sided in much the same way his push on me was - this is closer to how scum act when feigning a "push" to generate content.

Disclaimer I've yet to actually read the content of the Miner read and if I'm wrong here Miner actually is a pretty good bet for scum.

I...honestly think Cobalt's readslist gives the scumteam away.

    Cobalt

    Regfan
    Fable
    Quiddity
    Jan
    Stanari

    dC
    Miner
    Zenzao

    Fonti
    Waco
    Acio

    Vaimes
    pienyan

    Plotless
    Kai
    blab
    Jarizok

I'm tempted to clear Miner for being in the same tier as flipped scum, since I think Cobalt tried to spread his partners around.

Might crosscheck this with Waco's and Zenzao's early reads.

    Unvote, vote blab

Oh, add to that that what he wrote about my Cobalt-related posts D4 was so far off from reality that I don't even know. He called all of it "slimy" because "Cobalt was widely town read and would never go on a suicide mission as scum".

Um... hello? Is he reading the same fucking game? Cobalt did literally nothing past D1 and was starting to get universally suspected based on his complete lack of anything. This just reads disingenuous to me.

Like the Miner push to me reads like "oh wait, I can't keep pushing pie. I better figure out a new 'push' to spend all of my time making!"

---------- Post automerged at 08:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:36 PM ----------

The indignation about not having his posts read also makes literally no sense given how thoroughly wrong he's been about so many things this game. When you're as wrong as that, you don't just make huge cases and expect people to drop what they're doing and follow you on them.

---------- Post automerged at 08:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:37 PM ----------

The only thing making me question if I'm on the right track here is that I don't know if Reg/Cobalt were *actually* aligned yesterday.

Honestly, I think that Reg/blab seals the game.

dC's assessment is accurate. Reg thinks he deserves to be townread and is getting pissy that he isn't, me not reading ALL of his posts notwithstanding.

    ---------- Post automerged at 23:40 ---------- Previous post was at 23:39 ----------

Stanari is eh, she's still kind of *there* but not really doing anything.

Kind of feels like a policy lynch so ???. Plus she seems unfazed with the way the scumteam has been crumbling.

Alright, looking into this further since it's basically the only interesting thing I have to contribute I think.

What is actually going on with these posts? I'm seeing "pie is mafia" followed by "I need to hear from pie before deciding" followed by "hey let's worldbuild cobalt scumworlds" followed by "cobalt is mafia". The scum narrative is fairly straightforward: Push pie lynch he's been pushing previously, appear reasonable about it, gauge town's willingness to accept Cobalt scumteams that DON'T include him, then begin bussing Cobalt early (correctly predicting that Cobalt is going down before most townies feel like it's certain).

The town narrative...I'm not sure? It looks like weird stuff for a townie to be doing. I'd expect town!Reg to either stay on pie or unvote while waiting for pie feedback, and also to not say "pie will very probably flip mafia" and then go to "I need to see pie's analysis of the situation before deciding if pie is mafia" like 9 posts later. I don't think he'd say the former at ALL without being sure enough that he wouldn't pivot to the latter so quickly and with so little other input.

Vaimes makes a good point about Miner, so I will Unvote. Unsure if I want to lynch blab or Reg yet though.

    Additional brief points:
    - While I said earlier this probably wasn't the case, I have reassessed and Reg's read on me slowly decaying is consistent with "oh, I need another mislynch"
    - The whole thing where scum know Kai's role (evidence: the most recent nightkill) and thus that town is more powerful than it thinks it is, and Reg's argument for town!Cobalt was specifically "if he's not town then town is underpowered" is still >___>
    - blab has been very quiet recently

(PREVIEW EDIT: Inclined to agree on blab/Reg, although I'm a little eh about blab because he's a very "fits all teams" lynch and I've never been overly fond of those)

The Miner push seriously looks like he saw Cobalt about to flip, which would lock-clear me, and realized "shit I need to figure out a new target". That would explain why he came out of seemingly nowhere, stopped thinking so hard about me being such a lock-scum read and now is going full aggro on Miner to the exclusion of pretty much everything else (which is the same treatment he gave me).

---------- Post automerged at 08:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:42 PM ----------
dichotomousCreator; Vaimes; thoughts on the above?

I'm in agreement that his progression from "pie is lock-scum" to just dropping it and taking a neutral stance is suspect. The above is why and also fits in nicely with his Miner read today.

    Shrug.

I don't believe you need to read every single post to win.

Never have, and likely never will. It's simply too much content. Pick and choose your battles and all that.
