I've not actually done any rereading over night and won't for ~24 hours. I've mulled over things in my head a bit but will be actually doing proper reading and hoping it kills those concerns completely.

 

okay look I bought Reg's silver bullet scum case on blab (the whole "should be lynching me and not Miner" thing)

after doing this, I was convinced blab was scum and essentially reinterpreted everything through that lens

it's like how I latched onto Cobalt as town when he bussed Zen. If I'd scumread Cobalt earlier for something, I probably would have flipped THAT interpretation too.

I would believe this if you'd shown any sign of actually reevaluating that aspect of your read. As is it just looks like you were making things up as you went along.

I mean, yeah, that's what I'm saying. I had a "silver bullet" read saying blab was scum, so everything else I said about blab afterwards was said ASSUMING he was scum. This means all commentary on any of his behaviour was "this is scummy" not because it WAS scummy, but because the person doing it was "scum"

 

Like some people just try to convince people who suspect them that they're town.

I just OMGUS in ways I don't actually mean in order to vent frustration.

My thought process:

- single overwhelming point that convinces me blab is scum by itself, obliterating all previous reads
- everything blab does is now scummy by definition, and I should point out all of this to lynch the scum
- yeah, blab is scummy because X

Like. I think this makes the most sense if you pretend I got a cop guilty halfway through the day, b/c that's basically how I reacted to Reg's "blab should be voting Miner here" thing.

Not saying I consciously went "I read this as town before but now it's scummy!"

More saying when I reread it I got a different result because I was starting with a prior of "blab is scum"

 

So my problem with 3340 is you can't switch your reads up because you managed to be convinced by one of the people you suspected and then say "look at how he convinced me to follow his master plan." Cuz I feel like there's the problem then is more with you being so willing to flop on reads in the first place.

 

I mean obviously that IS a problem, yeah. I should have had more confidence in the read, and I'm annoyed at myself for not having that confidence. I mean the same applies to losing suspicion on Regfan because "he is acting town and I am probably just wrong". You can interpret that as null on Reg if you like, it interprets that way to ME because I know my alignment and I'm basically venting in-thread (hey look it's the reason I'm not being too hard on you if you KNOW your quirks aren't a good idea! :V)

What I am posting today is backlash for spending the entire day yesterday being very, very stupid. It's less "trying to avoid the lynch" and more "acting like I'm townfirmed because I will be when MYLO rolls around"

Related: Miner being scum and telling me to stop proposing my own lynch because it's -EV for town makes me think the plan I had that involved my own lynch resulted in the scumteam losing. Interesting...

(Like, I don't think Miner just says that for townpoints. It makes no sense to not let me just implode on myself unless me doing that actually threatens the scum)

 

How? Like don't get me wrong from my PoV yeah I think wolves lose if you get lynched but I'm not sure how you rationalize that from your PoV.

 

oh yeah also Reg has exhibited the same behaviour with his "dC is locktown wait j/k scum don't have daychat that completely sinks my read". This is more or less what I did with my blab read. So you can at least shoot both of us over that behaviour.

So when I flip for suddenly being a village idiot late into the game as usual, you will fucking lynch Reg and you will fucking win.

Like, I dunno what it is but I cannot maintain a high town standing without some mechanical stuff happening. The only games I can remember where I did were Witch Hunt 12 and CYOMRCGTG Mafia, and in both of those I acquired mechanical clears (WH12 by baiting a kill from scum who thought I was the Priest and getting an angel protect, and CYOMRCTCG by clusterfuckiness)

Usually I get run up early, but it happening day whateverthefuck was an interesting change of pace. I blame my improbable propensity to roll scum leaving my town game stunted and prone to acting like scum when I want a lynch to happen.

With 6 votes alive, it will be 4 votes to soft lynch and 5 votes to hard lynch.

 

But then what's the path of victory suppose to be for Reg/Miner if they didn't want to lynch you? Like they lynch blab yesterday but then one of them always would have gotten lynched today in that case and then what? Mislynch you in f4 then? I feel like in that case Reg probably would have been better off trying to tie you to blab instead of roping me into this shit and trying to push a me/blab world.
