Plotless was found sleeping in his hammock. He often slept there as dusk settled like it was three in the morning because he’s silly. His blond hair fluttered in the breeze. Crocea Mors leaned against a tree, beautiful, deadly, and far away.

A group of people stood around him.

“Aw, he’s not even waking up,” someone said, who poked Plotless in the cheek.

Another nodded sagely. “A kind way to die. Too kind for scum. Get him.”

They tied Plotless to a pyre and lit him on fire. He snored loudly until the crackling of flames overcame it.

Everyone was left a bit disappointed.

“You know, I don’t think he was actually scum,” one said. “Scum would get a cooler death.”

“I guess we’ve all learned a lesson here,” another said. “Always torture beforehand. That will get us the information we need.”

They found Jan dead in his house after he failed to turn up for the morning town meeting. He had been dragged out from under his bed, which was his usual sleeping place Night One. Someone had kicked his cane to the far corner of the room, and agony twisted Jan’s face. Everyone surrounding him knew why.

“Those monsters!” Someone punched the wall, leaving a dent and probably giving themselves arthritis. “Night One again! What does a man have to do to not die?”

“We are as but mayflies,” said the most pious of their number. “Soon we too will join Jan in the great beyond.”

Everyone slowly inched away from this person.

Someone lit a cigarette and sighed. “Poor Jan. Godspeed to heaven. As usual.”

Okay first of all: If Jan used that ability, should the targets claim it? I'm inclined to think not.

Second: Lynch: Jarizok (this isn't a finalized vote as I'm at work and need to inspect D1 stuff before making further moves, but this vote is definitely productive for now)

Third: The meta read thing I kept alluding to was basically: Meta townreads are good for D1 only and I'm interested in whoever provided the confirmation as well as the read target themselves. That means the Q/Vaimes/Fable squad that got meta passes are now back on the hook again, so look lively folks!

Fourth: Okay Kai, I'm actually willing to entertain that if you have something else to say about it. Do you?

I mean that seems like a dramatic shift? I mean I can possibly understand depending on some things but then you call for a stanari wagon too and then I just get even more confused. I get the vibe you're trying to be fancy but I can't figure what you're thinking exactly.

Because yeah I have never expressed anything close to a lock townread on Cobalt and given his present posts, I doubt I will.

The towncircle I was referring to in that post was the purple group, because I expressed the exact same one earlier.

I asked why Reg himself didn't include Cobalt; it had nothing to do with /my/ read on Cobalt.

I will say that this looks good for both of you, asking for clarification rather than pouncing on bad wording on my part.

Agreed, that does make more sense. It's also not something I'd expect scum to notice or care about, so that's something. (Ditto Fable actually spotting the discrepancy with Vaimes's vote, actually)
