Writing was pretty solid. I had a lot of fun with Harry demeaning Narcissa. As far as lemons go this one was better than others I've read. 3/5 with a chance that the author could continue this.

 

That was surprisingly satisfying to read and I do mean that as a double entendre. One or two phrasings made me laugh("feeling the dangling orbs lift in his sack") and took me out of the flow but otherwise It was pretty solid. I really want to read the interaction between Draco and Harry. It seems like the most readable and interesting porn I've come across.

Hmm... while it is pretty much pure smut, the setup seemed a little awkward just because there are some potentially large differences from book 7 that aren't covered with even a sentence. That distracted me a little in the beginning and the constant spell check errors didn't help either.

Overall, the writing wasn't bad though. A bit more work on the editing and potentially a paragraph or two of backstory inserted somewhere to explain Harry's differences and it would be more interesting to me.

It's decent smut, but it really is Porn Without Plot, at least with only that single chapter available right now. The implication is that this is post DH (or some version of DH) and

I suppose this could be explained in following chapters, but it's not right now and I'm judging the fic on what it is at the moment.

I guess everything depends on what you expect from a smutfic. It Coul Only Happen To Harry is well-done smut with some substance beyond the smut itself. It's probably the best take on semi-harem I've seen and it's a comedy.

This fic gives the impression of wanting to be edgy and serious. It doesn't do a great job of it imo. I want to expect more of fics. Would I recommend it? I don't think so.

Therefore it gets 2/5 for what could have been but wasn't.

 

Not enough story to keep me interested in what is essentially a story about Harry sexually assaulting someone, apparently with the intention of it leading to her having to bear his kids. It's a potentially interesting if disturbing storyline, but I figure this is just going to focus on rape-y sex. Not my cup of tea.

 

ScottPress If I remember right Harry is protecting both Draco and Narcissa from both the ministry and Voldemort. Voldemort has not been defeated yet.

 

Well, there you go. What little of the plot there was didn't keep me interest long enough for me to remember that. Kind of proves my point.

 

I don't know if it was the sometimes awkward phrasing, the numerous spell check errors or the tired ol' premise and dialogue, but the fic couldn't pull me in. Perhaps I have read too many similar stories, but this just seemed to me like another cookie-cutter sex slave lemon where the characters bear only a nominal familiarity to their canon counterparts.

I'm not saying this is horrible, just nothing exceptional. Nothing new under the sun here. 2/5.

 

People need to remember that this entry is meant for the Restricted Section, the smut section.

Before you give your 2/5s, I advise you to take a stroll through the Restricted Section and check the fics there. I assure you, few are better written than this one.

This is not a proud statement, as this here isn't written particularly well. But even so, it accomplishes what it sets out to do, and docking points because of what 'it could have been' is ridiculous on a smutfic that is meant to be a smutfic.

Republic

As time goes on, DLP's tastes evolve and we expect more. There are many old Library fics that would be judged much more harshly by DLP circa 2016 than they were years ago. I gave it 2/5 because that's what I think it deserves. I won't rate it higher because it's better than other bad fics. I judged it on its own merits.

 

Well, ScottPress said what I wanted to say. I was going to leave a thumbs up in his post and go on with my life, but then I found out that I have to have 30-50 posts to do so (is this number really necessary?).

So, in the interests of not doing a shitpost I would like to add another argument in favor of my rating: Every fic should be rated on its own merits, not just in relation to other fics, because the people who come here to see which ratings we give to a certain stories may not have, and indeed should not have to have, the context with which such ratings were given.
