Uh, good for you? That was random.

Yes! One of my favorite shows is bsck. I dream of finally by etting an ending. It must retain that minimalistic, highly stylized way that Jack was, and no goddamn 3d. Damn. This is awesome news.

Burn the witch! Uh, and how about now that you're older? Same disinterest?

I remember enjoying it somewhat, but then all the episodes seemingly blended in together. Each episode was just Jack cutting those mechanical spider thingies and bathing in their blood oil. Maybe a rewatch would jog my memory. Been a long while...

While that's true, the plot eventually shifts to original foes and routes as things proceed. Sure, you'll get some mech-spiders now and again even later on, but I think the payoff is worth it.

I think it was episode 3 of the series where he's defending some place from an army of hundreds of robots, and the first part of the episode is setting traps everywhere and preparing equipment for the fight, and the second part of the episode is him slowly using up all the traps and equipment to kill as many robots as possible until its just him and his sword against the last dozen or so robots, which he just barely manages to defeat getting badly injured. That episode was awesome.

In later episodes he just seems to kill everything with his sword, often with no problem at all. None of the later battles ever felt as meaningful.

^ Jack vs the Immortal Anubis things? Jack vs the Sirens? Jack vs the Guardian of the Time Gate? Animal!Jack vs the arena? Jack vs the Offworld Predators?

Sure, his sword's hot stuff - and it bloody well should be, a magic sword forged to defeat the Emperor of All Evil that is Aku. And Jack himself has been trained since childhood by the best the nations of the world had to offer for many years.

I especially liked the episode of White Jack vs Black Assassin, very thematic episode with a fun pay off. And the one with the killer robot that has a soft spot for that dog.

The battles aren't all there is to Jack's journey. The journey itself and the places, peoples, and situations he find's himself in matter too.

I always thought that watching Samurai Jack was like seeing an collection of paitings by the same artist. Each paiting has his signature, some basic things in common and perhaps a few things more depending on the paiting, but each paiting is also unique and is able to stand on it own. Also, they are can vary wildly in style and theme, and being a highly stylized cartoon, Sm ur ai Jack’s image is also one of its main components.

Definitely one of my favourites. Plus the episode with the three blind archers was awesome.

I have very fond memories of this show and while I will want to watch it again, I am afraid that it wont live up to my memory of it.

I wonder if Toonami/Cartoon Network will bring back any other old shows like this? Samurai Jack wasn't the only old cartoon that I watched religiously, though even just this is more than I ever expected.

I loved the online games, hated the cartoon. I was more of a Ben 10/KND/Danny Phantom/American Dragon kind of guy.
