I'd read that. Also, as far as alternative power sources go, why not the resurrection stone? Would kind of give a limit to how much power he has, while not completely derping him.

After endless research (about five minutes worth, really) I've found the black rings don't necessarily have the same powers as the others, mainly no all-knowing A.I. which has been an annoying sticking point for me with the other colors.

Great minds thinking alike - proof: I was going to have the resurrection stone as the power source which would change up the power set even more... less flesh eating, no evil zombies, etc.

Crazy Cho Murder: I really have to be in a bad mood to write that story. I wrote the first two chapters when I wanted to take the closest knife and stab someone I seriously disliked to death. I have the next two murders planned, just don't know when it'll be written.

 

Just imagine hipsters. Or being forced by family to marry mknote. D:

It's not great but it's better than a lot of HP/Stargate xovers. Its main attraction is that it doesn't use the Veil to introduce Harry to the Stargate universe.

It starts out with Odin punishing Loki by wiping his memory and banishing him into the body of the stillborn baby James Potter. He gets his memory back when Voldemort attacks him and spends the next few years moping over Lily's death in Asgard.

Then main story starts when Loki is reunited with Harry. Harry's reunited with his father pre-Hogwarts, so the focus isn't really on what Harry does. The does include personifications of Fate, Magic, and Chaos, which annoys me, but the story is an enjoyable read.

This wasn't bad in the beginning. Then about half-way through, maybe a little earlier, it just got incredibly stupid. Ridiculous, unbelievable, and quite frankly retarded plot twists all piled on top of each other.

 

I feel like this is usually the problem when you cross any fantasy series with Stargate. At the start, you can make a good go of it with the character interaction, but the internal contradictions and differences in power scaling really take their toll as the fic goes on.
